Mrs. & I mostly chilled today just enjoying the beautiful day. Picked a gallon of late greenbeans. Amazing how many blooms are still coming on. They're in the crockpot now with some bacon. Picked the last of the sweet corn. Half of it is in our digestive systems as are a couple of yellow tomatoes. She did some pruning in the raised garden beds. My woodworking was confined to working on the wood chipper. Hope to finally have it ready tomorrow. Summer sure has gone by quickly.

Grandson came in late Saturday night. The guys went out for Tacos Sunday lunch and it was Ichban for supper. In between we went down to the Ranch Range for a little Dueling tree practice (since it was once again rebuilt). You would not believe how much damage a 45 can do to a modern ( said thin) bedframe material.

Today it was off to Huey Magoo's for lunch. I got him into the shop to start working on a box. Got the bottom done except for sanding and he will finish turning whenever he comes back. After he left I went back to shop to work repairing the dueling tree again. This time with some of what must have been ancient bed rails it is much thicker. On one side it is one piece but the other side is pieced together. Hope this fix lasts. Sorry I forgot to take pics. There was one 45 and 3 9mm stuck in the metal .

Going to the Ranch tomorrow to continue work on slabbing out that giant tree. Maybe later this week we cut a dead oak down.

Family gathered for a meal and some swimming at our son's place. Great tri tips and trimmings. Rare, as I like it and, thinly sliced.

Everyone enjoyed the pool. It's their last chance as, it's destined to become a water habitat for aquatic life and plants...once the chlorine dissipates.

Got caught up on Grand kids' doing, The older one, grandson, had his first two weeks of college classes a the U of A. Says he's enjoying it. Math, chemistry and the obligatory freshman English, as well as computer science. Granddaughter is in her last year of HS. She's undecided about her future schooling. Whatever it is it will include art classes.

Grandson has a '03 6 cyl. Mustang that he wants to sell it and get a newer model with a V8 and four on the floor. He's found one but hasn't contacted the seller, yet.

Phyl and I pretty much finished the desk install in the kitchen. There's some trim work yet.

She bought an 'L' shaped desk for her office. It's disassembled and still in the truck bed. As soon as one of the boys can get out here, we'll haul it in and reassemble it. It's really heavy. Laminate covered MDF. Anxious to empty the truck, as we have tons of stuff, including the old kitchen desk in pieces, to haul to the dump.

In the meantime, I'll be gathering tools from the desk install and, nailing some quarter round in the newly painted office. Lots of busy work.

Rode up to the family reunion in Pittsburgh on Saturday with my two brothers.  Had a great time but the heat and humidity wore me down.  Slept good and then relaxed Sunday.  Spent a little time in the shop on the holiday.

Knocked out about 2/3 of the mowing today after the dew mostly dried. About half really needed mowed; like April grass. The other half mowed nice; typical "fall" grass. Hope to finish Wednesday before time to go to grandsons football game.
