August 31, 20241 yr Popular Post Not sure if this is the right forum, but seemed to fit, so... I'm not sure exactly what terms to search for or what is out there. Or, if there is some super simple way of DIY. What I'm looking for, and trying to price (cheap would be good!) is a small mobile work bench type thing. Something that is small, I can put on my fold out table outside and put away when I'm done. Foldable would be even better. I would want to use it for clamping things down while sawing, cutting, drilling, Dremel work, etc. I can't picture what that would look like in my head because other than some c-clamps not sure what else I might need or use it for. Hopefully, I e explained it well enough. Any advice of what to get, or terms to search, etc? Thanks
August 31, 20241 yr Popular Post Something like this? I've got the one on the right, it's about 60 years old. Handed down from my dad. Light enough to toss in the back of the truck, yet solid enough for some serious work. The whole top is a clamp, or just clamp something to it. Make a plywood sacrificial top, screw a narrow board to the bottom of it, and clamp it in the table, and increase your work space.

I actually like that one on the left. What is it called? Maybe I can find it or something similar on Amazon.
September 1, 20241 yr It's a "Vevor folding work table" If you register on their website, it's $118 US. Sorry, I'm not a computer guy... just google it.
September 1, 20241 yr Work Mate makes a tabletop model. Found used on eBay. Workmate drop top I have one that was given to me and would part with it for 50 plus shipping.
September 4, 20241 yr Author Popular Post So, I told my wife I am buying a new workbench. (As long as she doth protest too much about the money 😁😉) After we talked it over I bought a new workbench. I looked at a lot of reviews. I decided to go with the one pictured below. It's more of a table workbench, but is foldable, and is setup for clamps and such as I need to use them. It's being delivered today. However, due to the weather that Satan himself would seek shade from, I won't be using it for a couple days.

Hopefully, it works out

As a side note, I looked really hard at this bench. It had really good reviews. There was one thing I read though that stopped me from pulling the trigger. A couple reviews stated that the clamp system down the middle is proprietary. Something happened to their clamps and they couldn't just replace it with another clamp. They said they have had a hell of a time trying to find something that works and can't find anything being sold explicitly for the bench. I didn't look to see if they were wrong, I just knew that I wouldn't want to deal with those things.
September 5, 20241 yr If you go with the B&D Workmate make sure it has the solid wood tables. Some of them have pressboard tables.
