August 23, 20241 yr Popular Post Looks like it's that time of the week again. Spent the past few days enjoying some cooler, much less humid weather but that ends tomorrow when high humidity and above normal temperatures are forecast to return. So, for the next few days it will be back to multiple breaks trying to get things done. Not sure what I'll manage to get accomplished. What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

August 23, 20241 yr Popular Post Looks like most of us east of the Mississippi River are enjoying some fall like weather but don't worry, Summer ain't finished with us yet! Waiting on Mimi to tell me what my plans are for today/weekend. Hope I can finally get back to do some turning. I have an EWT demo to do outside of Washington D.C. next weekend and need to get ready for that.
August 23, 20241 yr Author Popular Post Even the plants don't know what to make of this weather lately. The Oaks, & Maples have been dumping leaves for the past 2-3 weeks. Even some of the wildflowers are going to seed. About 1-1 1/2 months earlier than abbynormal.
August 23, 20241 yr Popular Post Not as productive as I had hoped with the cooler weather this past week but did cross off a few things plus a couple not on the list. Oldest grandson had his first 8th grade football game Wedjesday night. My attire for the night was long pants and a flannel shirt in AUGUST. Game ended about 9:30 with temperature about 56°. Heat from the restroom hand dryer felt really good. They won 8-6. Got about 75% of string trimming done ahead of the game before running out of fuel mix. Made a good dent in the mowing yesterday after a trip to town to refuel containers. Should finish that this afternoon. Still need a trip to Boilertown to H-F (go H-F), Menards and Rural King. Probably a trip to recycle drop off tomorrow. Church services Sunday.
August 23, 20241 yr Sad day tomorrow for a funeral. A friend of 45 years got caught in a rip tide while on vacation in Hilton Head and drowned. He and his wife lived near us at the time and had children about the same age as ours.

August 25, 20241 yr Popular Post Enjoying this sudden burst of cooler temperature. Had to get new charcoal grill this week. Old one developed a salad plate sized hole in bottom. Lasted 7 years, so new one will last about 2 right?
