Friday July 5th, 2024-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Friday again folks. :D

So, what did you do for the 4th?

Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I spent the day up and down off the roof adjusting a pair of TV antennas I put up Wednesday that is replacing ones a winter storm brought down.

I set this pair up as a horizontal stack versus the vertical stack that came down in that storm. A bit harder to get adjusted but they don't have to be as high as the vertical stack required.

Still have to fine tune the Milwaukee facing antenna a bit, the Chicago facing antenna I believe is adjusted the best it's going to get.

Went from having 44 working channels to 126.

Today I'll be trying to get a Wells Cargo trailer box that was listed for "Free" on C-list it had the axles, springs and tongue cut off and someone was using it for storage.

The box is sitting on a paved driveway. I've got a single axle camping trailer chassis it will fit with a bit of work.

That's my weekend plans.

What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

For the 4th, I sat in the house most of the day watching it rain. I haven't got this weekend figured out yet. I'll check back in later.

Rain cleared out just in time for the fireworks display. Everyone enjoyed the show except for Beauregard- he will never be a hunting dog.

Still waiting on the turning club to provide enough materials to finish their rolling pin blanks for the scheduled workshop. Only half the blanks are finished:(

Finally went out to the garage in the afternoon during round 2 of the rain. Refurbished some tools and NiCd tool batteries. So far, all but two batteries have returned to life and taken full charges.

Been doing some hunting and gathering as well; old NiCd, Lithium Ion batteries, cell phones, ancient tablets, dead printers, VCR's/DVD players, brake fluid, oils, chemicals, L&G tires/tubes, some old flourescent tubes, etc. for Tox-A-Way day tomorrow. Our county waste management sponsors a yearly event to get rid of these items for free.

Probably will start mowing tomorrow to get done ahead of next rain wave beginning Monday. Mrs. has a couple of her pet projects she wants to see some action occur. Church services Sunday.

Speaking of mowing, my lawn looks like it could use a cutting. Guess it will have to wait a few days. Maybe I can just order it to stop growing until I'm ready

Same here, but I doubt that it would listen. <_<

Did some target practice yesterday and found one scope mount not strong enough for the rifle it is mounted on. Still sanding the spiral bowl. More sanding today. Gotta order a new scope mount.

This morning took wife to doctor for a rash all over her body. Got scripts and now to see it it works.

Hope the Mrs. will get comfort from the meds.

Well, mowing grass low when it's really hot is bad for it.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Tried that on my wife. She’s not buying it.

It has been a busy week for sure.
Last weekend spent some time wrenching on the old FJ Cruiser.  Alternator decided to die and take out the fuse with it.
Replaced those and the wife started in about unreliable and old and impractical.  24 hours later, the FJC was sold and I am looking at new trucks.
I suppose it’s time, I managed to get 18 years out of it and it is time to move on to something new.

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th were unappreciated by the puppers and spent the last couple nights drugging them up and trying to keep one of them calm.
One of mine doesn’t care.  Noises? huh gone now, don’t care.  The other one is terrified of the unknown.  As long as she can see the cause and effect it is all good.
We go shooting and she has zero problems with loud noise.  Fireworks on the other hand come out of nowhere, no rhyme or reason, and she just can’t figure it out and it scares her to no end.

After much monkeying around, the plantation shutters for the entry way are finally finished and I remember now why I hate doing paint grade anything so much.
They are done, and the customer (wife) is very happy with them so in the grand scheme of things I suppose it isn’t a bad thing.
Learned a lot about doing shutters which is good because I will probably have a lot more to do.

Shutters look great!

4 out 5 of our Bassets hated loud noises.

Really nice job on those shutters, Michael. ScreenShot2021-11-11at6_53_55AM.png.24f757a8f9111b7d7b5831100c5bbe05.png
