Friday March 29th, 2024-Whats on Your Weekend Agenda?

Featured Replies

It's that time of the week again.

In other words, It's Friday again folks!

:ChinScratch: Here in the land of "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I've been trying to figure out what one of those "Windows Updates" <_< did to cause this computer to have intermittent Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection issues. :WonderScratch:

Just about the time I think I've got it figured out it starts acting up again. :PullingHair:

I've read where others using some Intel based Wi-Fi/Bluetooth cards with AMD CPU's are also experiencing the same issues. :(

So, while I work on trying to figure this out, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Finishing up R&R that I didn't get done yesterday. Did most all of my domestic duties yesterday. Youngest granddaughter came in last night after classes. Oldest granddaughter will be here tomorrow. May muster up the initiative to pick-up sticks and such this afternoon or perhaps hangout in the garage or nothing at all. Saturday, TBD based on outside weather conditions. Sunday, Sunrise Easter Services, Breakfast, Sunday School, followed by Easter Service. Daughter is hosting Easter lunch, then an egg hunt if weather allows.

W11 IIRC last Tuesday.

Machine did another update this morning. must have been a pretty good sized one. Took quite a while and three reboots before it was finished.

Looks like it did a cumulative update to the cumulative update it did last Tuesday and three Realtek audio driver updates.

:ChinScratch:The updates didn't mention Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, but things seem to be back to "Abby Normal".

:throbbinghead:

For now. <_<

Working on another set of boxes for children's hospital. I think there are about 12 or 13 in this set.  Got some 3/8" x 3.5" wood and got them cut and box joints on the corners cut.  Variety of woods -- maple, cherry walnut, sycamore.   Gluing up the remaining strips for the tops.   Two sizes 5.25" square and 5"x4" to get good yield from the pieces I had.   Photos when they get a little further along.

Lets see..been a very busy day....

1).  Go to Harbor Freight...buy a new grinder...as the 50+ yr old one died...

No cloth wheels..over to Lowes

No. 2

GoodFrdayRoadTripLowes.jpg.b2e2f50cb70f5b55f76c074d85900c62.jpg

No cloth wheels there..bought a spare blade...ON SALE...

Boss then called...had to bring her a Coke ( a "choke coke from McD's and a 6 pack of bottles)

Delivered those to her...on the way back home ( after a stop at Long John Silvers, of course) stopped at the Hardware store in Park Layne, OH.

3) They have a very dangerous aisle..for my wallet...not only the Cloth wheels but a fine wire wheel, too...plus

GoodFridayRoadTriphandlewedges.jpg.0b678392cb126cf9446493d9ce14f79b.jpg

Wedges to fix a handle on a hatchet...

Then went home, and unloaded a few things..

They did have a 3" model..was a bit too small for what I need..$58 for the grinder.

Now I need to switch some wheels. and keep the "new Stones" for when I need them...and replace them with the wire and cloth wheels.   Then install the new grinder where the old grinder used to be....and we be back in business.  Lots of time behind the wheel of the Chevy...

Will update things as they happen..

Leading up to the busy weekend I have been visiting with a friend who came into town early for today (Saturday) and squeezing in some outside time.  Spent two days mowing, edging, triming, etc. and then two days doing some brickwork.  21 years ago the kids & I installed a brick walkway out front and beside the parking pads in the rear.  Just bricks laid on top of a bed of sand.  The front walk had developed one spot where it sunk a bit, maybe a 3' x 2' spot.  Not bad for 21 years really and it was fairly simple to fix by pulling the bricks up in that spot, packing in some additional sand and putting the bricks back and sweeping more sand into the cracks.  The bricks out back, though, not so easy.  Some of those bricks were sticking up due to tree roots.  So, dig those bricks up, use the sawzall to cut the root out and then re-lay the bricks.  I am about 1/2 done with those areas.

Today our daughter, her beau and his family are coming for lunch - some sort of "pre-engagement" type of thing.  We had a nice visit with them all a couple weeks ago, so a repeat of that I reckon.  After they leave, Julie will shift gears to prep for Easter dinner with some friends and family.  Me?  I will stay right the heck out of the kitchen and out of the way!

#1 done. #2 partially completed.  Those blades were beyond help. Ordered a new set. #3 done. Waiting for it to cure before filling the holes and cracks with colored resin. #4 successfully completed.

No shop work today. Phyl's taking me out for an early birthday meal of Sushi. She'll bake a cake later.  It'll be a big one to hold all the candles. The fire department has been alerted.:OldManSmiley:
