March 18, 20242 yr Popular Post Got the table finished and the owner drove up from Florida and picked it up. Sunday afternoon did my qualification for church security under the Alabama Security Guard protocol. After that just a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Got to replace the seal in a window today. That'll be a little bit of a job.

Waiting for it to warm up to freezing before I go out and pull the passenger's side strut/steering knuckle assembly from the stepsons Equinox so I can get to the back side of the hub-bearing to try driving it out from the backside. 5 lb. slide hammer won't budge it.
March 18, 20242 yr Popular Post Roughed out a small cherry bowl, soaking now. Stone mason coming tomorrow to encase the chimney- don't ask... Have to get the garden shed opened up for access to the leftover field stones from the previous work.
March 18, 20242 yr Popular Post Picking up two more table tops from the church this morning to replace the edges.
March 18, 20242 yr Popular Post Meeting the Howe family from WY this morning at our favorite place to eat breakfast. The rest of the day TBD. No shop time anticipated, though.
March 18, 20242 yr Popular Post Busy weekend especially at church. Yesterday was the Commissioning Service for pastors daughter. She'll be leaving Saturday serving two years as a missionary in South America. Big carry-in meal after. We provided the donuts for breakfast. Surprisingly, the green donuts were a big hit. Youngest grand-daughter made it "home" in time for the service. She's on her spring break this week. If it's Monday, Gruber (grandpa uber) service at 3:45P. Grandson still has is eye on the goal for joining the choral team...the "free subway sandwich and teeshirt." As per State Law, shop will remain closed if your tongue sticks to metal objects. Just to assure you all, power tools are unplugged before attempting this test and handplane irons are fully retracted. There still are a few donuts left-over. I'll figure out something.
March 18, 20242 yr Popular Post two more tables brought home to the shop....my goodness, do they do demolition derbys with these things? one corner way crunched in. fixable, but really? c'mon man....
March 18, 20242 yr Author Popular Post Grandson' Wedding was at the VFW, last night....Youngest grandson took full advantage of the 3 free Drinks at the Bar....is paying the price this morning...BTW, They did NOT "card" anyone...you gave them a token, they gave you a Drink....maybe he will learn his lesson after his first time being Drunk? 32 degrees right now, with snow flakes floating by...nothing sticking around once it hits the ground... Still have my "Sunday-go-to Meeting" jeans on....Verboten to go to the shop in them. Daughter bought me new shoes, to wear to the wedding...except I wear a size 13W....she bought size 12 regular width... Need the Boss to go along to shop for new Living Room Furniture...as the old stuff was tossed out....told she had to get up and start moving around ON HER OWN, before we can go shopping... If I get out of the Fancy Jeans later, I'll haul that $21 Buck Bros smoother to the shop, for a good clean and Polish....and even a sharpening?
March 18, 20242 yr Popular Post Strut/Steering Knuckle assembly removed, and now soaking backside of hub-bearing. Almost time to go, on it!

March 18, 20242 yr Popular Post ahem, the number of the clamping shall be 11. never 13, certainly not 6, but only 11, and 11 shall be the number of the clamping. so it is written, so shall it be! (maybe I should get out more?) 5 points if you know the movie reference.
