Site occasionally thinks I'm a robot (Resolved)

Featured Replies

Spent 20 minutes typing up a post today.  Hit Submit only to have the page refresh with all I'd written gone. Hit refresh again and a warning page asking me to prove I'm not a robot popped up.  I understand the nature of robots. As a kid I occasionally dressed up as the "lost in space" robot for Halloween.  I have to admit this popped my airbag today having exceeded my frustration level.   Might be due to me using my phone's data 5G connection to connect my PC to the web and it's location jumps around apparently.  Don't know for sure but this isn't the first time it has happened on this forum. First time it disappeared a wordy post just written though.

Just venting.  I suspect there is not much that can be done about it.

Typically the site software remembers the entry if interrupted before posting.

hmmmmm

Try to go to the same forum and start your topic again. It should have saved your entry.

Wasn't a new topic, just an added post to an existing thread.  A story of progress with successes and challenges to overcome which is usually well received. My energy for that effort has passed for the day.

Thanks and sorry for your issues. If you have a second, try replying to the same topic then, and see if the text re-populates.

That worked.  Not sure why it disappeared the first time I submitted it.  Thanks for the suggestion.

You bet 4D, I am not sure why it disappeared, but we do have a back up function in our software which is very cool, just in case a PC crashes, or shutsdown unexpectedly (in my case our cats fighting between the back of the pc and the wall and the power cord gets dislodged) you can revisit the same topic or post even a day later and attempt to start it up again, and the text will repopulate.

Sorry for the inconvenience. :)

+1 to how cool it is. Saved me more than once when I fat finger the incorrect functions on my tablet or phone.

Glad it saved you, that's a good feature.  I have gotten into the routine of selecting all text and copying when I get more than a few lines typed.  That way I can just paste it back if it disappears.  If a response is going to be really long and detailed I'll type it in Word and then copy/paste into the forum text field.

Is this still an issue @4DThinker ?

Hasn't happened since.
