Maple wood with 2X  clear

I used the same bottle of color for all the colors, just kept adding more lacquer thinner using the air brush.

Cutting the slot for the mirror between the backer board and the carved pieces was a little strain on my little brain

but got er done.

I might have said before, no woodworking sales sites sells these air angle air grinders and this is what I start hogging out the wood then turn to the Dremel with the flex shaft for the tight narrow gruves. 20240128_091819.jpg.8a780536d706c22413a5b1d58521aa31.jpg

Four different shades counting the middle is a very light pink.IMG_20220811_191223065.jpg.2cd41b1b66db52654f7fb66e350cb73e.jpg

These grinders were what they sold for years, both are 20 years old and now this is what they look like now. 20230621_132428.jpg.0b9f0a0b454358b110f90915320c1865.jpg

The older model only took 1/4" bits but now the new model has an 1/8" collet included for all the bits I order from  Wood Carvers Supply, Inc in Florida.. They do have a catalog online for ordering bits.

The last time I was in Harbor Freight they still had the older models screwed in to their displays and I ask the manager if I could buy those and he said no????

The air tools are much better for lasting than the electric models of anything thats sold anywhere.

I would like to put this mirror in the Gallery but not savy enough. The URL has me stumped.   I are a wood worker, not a computer goo- ru

Patch, I'd love to be able to envision projects through your artistic eyes. Love the colors and contrast on this one.

Always a treat to see what's in the works from your shop and imagination.

Thanks Lew I could see no advantage in having that many pictures of the same thing in the Gallery...I never cold see if it was loading more pictures.  When It asked for the URL before it loaded a picture I had never had to do that I thought when I loaded pictures here but again I never know what day it is anymore. If it ain't woodworking in my shop I am lost.

Lost in more ways than one.... I have had the water cut off to my shop for the last two or three weeks for the freezing weather and that was like putting an arm in a cast....no bathroom use or water to clean brushes or removing glue on my hands which had turned in to a simple task... I guess it was like when we moved to California in 1941 just before the war started....My mother went crazy  because in texas we had no running water and the out house was very cold in the winter and only an oil lamp at night for light.....In California we moved in to a small three room house and she had every thing she had only dreamed of having.....

I can relate to the plumbing. We used an outside bathroom until I was in 7th grade

That was a world of difference back then.

When we finally moved back to Texas the first halloween was a little different than what I was used to doing on that night.

The guys ask me if I wanted to go and turn over out houses but we got to be careful for the one arm constable we had there in Ropes, tx population around 250, if he caught us he would make us go back and turn them back up. Then go and apologize. And their way of thinking if the people who owned the out houses were real old they would not be able to chase us down so the only person we had to worry about was the constable.

Then after we got old enough to understand life, picking on old folks was the wrong thing to do back then.
