Friday January 26th, 2024-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Featured Replies

Friday again folks! :D

Here "Two Weeks from Anywhere" we're stuck in a rinse repeat cycle that doesn't seem to want to end. <_<

At least we don't have to shovel it.

Might try to wade my way out to the chop saw and drill press sometime today.

What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

It's Friday already :JawDrop:

Forecast is calling for rain through Saturday.  All week it's been overcast with mostly drizzle and mist, we've gotten maybe 1/4".

I am in cabinet drawer and finishing mode.  May bid on a couple on-line local auction items.

I'll be busy.  I would like to be delivering these cabinets next weekend, we shall see.

Spent a little time in the garage Wednesday PM. It was warm enough. Didn't accomplish much; the mass mess and disorganization was kind of overwhelming. Drove to a burb just West of Indy yesterday afternoon to pick-up some auction purchases. Not much in actual shop tools; I'll try to post a few pics over the weekend. Still have a few items to unload from car this afternoon.

Attended the oldest grandsons first middle school home wrestling meet last night. He's been wrestling for a total of 3 weeks. He lost by pin in first round to an 8th grader but shows promise. Team lost by 6 points but gave up 5 forfeits; missing several kids due to illness. His "step-dad" was a pretty good wrestler in HS. SIL's great-grandfather was a B10 champion and qualified for the Olympics. It's been 55 years since I competed.

Meeting the Mrs. in town today after she gets off work to run some errands; probably will grab dinner (aka supper) later. Tomorrow hunker down as winter returns. Church responsibilities Sunday.

Got errands ran today so will stay away from the weekend madness and spend some time in the shop.

I shifted gears yesterday...

Spent all morning on phone calls.  After lunch I applied a coat of lacquer to the base cabinet top and face frames.  I was going to continue working on drawers, but it was such a pleasant day... I didn't want to get dusted with sawdust and then apply the second coat of lacquer so I went up back and started the winter pruning of the grapes.  Got about 1/4 done when I could apply another coat of lacquer - then I just lazed out to enjoy the late afternoon with a cup 'o joe on the back deck.  Bid on an auction item.

Today's another day...

So far a coat of lacquer and checked the auction.  I was outbid.  Good, I didn't really need another project right now!!!

I also thought better about making those drawers when I haven't got the face frames installed.  That "could" change my drawer width ;)

Just laying here watching the Chiefs win another one, Taking my pain pills and zoning out . Figured with the down time I could try some project research ....not. All this Oxycodone has me in a state of worse memory than I had before .

Good to hear from you Gerald. Pray all went well. That Oxycodone is nasty stuff IMO. It took the pain edge off but the other effects got to me. As for the memory, I blame some of that on the anesthesia. Seems like each time I go under, memory seems to digress. Prayers for a quick and complete recovery.

PS, fortunate Taylor Swift could make the game and help KC pull off the win.;)

Probably would have been a different outcome without her presence.:Cheer::rolleyes:

I agree with Fred here Gerald, hope to hear that your recovery is short and you are back at it soon.
