December 21, 20232 yr Author comment_326308 Most to replace existing stuff, or given away as gifts... 2 hours IN the shop, today....Vertigo is slowing me down a bit.. Drawer #1 is cleaned up, and test fitted.. Even slides out easily... As for the knobs? needed to make a dowel for them...Beltsander did the work.. Round a bit of almost square stock until it fits into the knob..then mark for length.. Add a spot of glue...Done. Just need to drill a hole to match the "tenon", for now..they can sit up here, out of the way.. I also cleaned and sharpened the plane.... Drawer #2...Usual suspects as to what tools were needed.. Includes that block plane...as the 2 sides needed jointed... And the edges squared up...usual stuff with cutting those dovetails..might get the hang of doing them...someday? Right off the saw.....repeat for the other corner.. Back corners get a rebate to house the back of the drawer...which is in that vise, getting jointed...was a bit wide... Plywood bottom took a bit of "Cut & Fit" until.. Glue , clamps , and cauls arrived...and a brush to moosh the glue around a bit... cauls as needed... Teaser? Was told it was about quitting time... Have a repair sitting in the vise, at the moment...Good place to stop. Detail of the back corners? This is drawer #1..Can barely see the rebate the back is sitting in... Stay tuned... Report

December 22, 20232 yr Author comment_326362 Second drawer is out of the clamps, and cleaned up....sitting over on the tablesaw at the moment, waiting for glue to cure.. Steps to add a knob? Find the center point.. Diagonals with a straightedge, where the 2 lines cross.. Awl to make a starter hole...then Drill a hole that will be a tight fit for the tenon on the knob.. Brush a bit of glue around the tenon and bottom of the knob.. Add a clamp to press the knob all the way down...( this is the top drawer, BTW) And set aside for a while... Stay tuned Report
December 22, 20232 yr Author comment_326363 Also, this morning BEFORE the Road Trip/Rust Hunt... Laid out some lines... Saw on the waste side of the lines...then Chop out the waste..then a dry fit, right off the saw...once the tails were done.. Once the other 2 corners are done, and this stand is glued up...will level the top and the feet...Add a couple glue blocks, and attach this to the bottom of the case.. Stay tuned...cussing will be involved.. Report

December 23, 20232 yr Author comment_326376 About an hour, this evening... Drawers are done.. Base has been dry fitted...cauls are pre-cut..so...glue-ups happen.. Angled cauls for the angled sides Cauls on the ends, to allow for 3 clamps....angled cauls wanted to slide a bit...let this sit until tomorrow morning...then clean it up, add the glue blocks to install this to the case..then sand a bit, stain a bit..then a coat or two of Amber Shellac...after that? Stay tuned... Report
