November 10, 20232 yr Popular Post Looks like we made it to another Friday. Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" yesterday marked the day forty years ago that SWMBO started putting up with me. She must have been out of her mind. Not sure what I'll be doing this weekend, What's on Your Weekend agenda?
November 10, 20232 yr Popular Post Going to be below 50° both days. In shop activities should win out.
November 10, 20232 yr Popular Post Congrats Larry! And Mrs. Larry too Not exactly sure what all is on my weekend agenda. I have the little vanity carcass done. I went ahead and assembled it so that I could miter the edge band corners. It's small enough to carry with us so doing it as a kit wasn't really necessary. I am kinda stuck right now before cutting out the doors until I get word on the hinges they want to use - and we are so late in the game that if it is a set of hinges to be ordered I will have to have them shipped to Ohio and complete the doors there. I may try to get them (son & DIL) to go to one of the big boxes today and see if there is a set that will work for them. I would like to get it to the point of finishing. Tomorrow evening is UGA vs Ole Miss - should be a good game, but it looks like it might be in a cold rain. Sorta glad I don't have tickets for it. We are expecting rain over the weekend, so inside jobs whatever they may be will be on tap.
November 10, 20232 yr Popular Post Went to my follow up yesterday from the hernia repair hoping the Doc would say I'm good to go. Nope, wait one more week he said, then do whatever you want. So I guess the yard work I had planned won't happen. More piddling in the shop, and maybe some house cleaning as part of the T'giving prep work I'm doing.
November 10, 20232 yr Popular Post Congrats, Larry! Haven't been given assignments- yet. Relatives will be here the week of Thanksgiving so I imagine there is much cleaning in my future.
November 10, 20232 yr Popular Post Finally got all 30 of my wooden toys cut on the scroll saw this morning, most are sanded and ready for the finish. They are all alder. Not an exceptionally pretty wood. So most will be painted. Just ordered an air brush. One more big boy toy to play with. Today, we'll be having fish for lunch at a Mexican restaurant in town. Then, its off to UPS to get some Christmas gifts sent to my sisters. She made lap quilts for them and I made some scroll work items for them. Finally, we'll make stop at Tractor Supply for a Parvo inoculation kit for our pup. That will about clear today's tasks except of the obligatory naps. Tomorrow, my barber is offering free hair cuts for vets. I'll take advantage of that.

November 10, 20232 yr Popular Post Domestic duties today. May try to give our "vintage" spirea bushes a trim; starting to restrict view backing out of the driveway. Considering beginning the task of mowing and mulching leaves this weekend. That is under review based on climate change. Number of other tasks to choose from as well depending on my motivation meter. Meter needs new batteries. Last I checked batteries were on back-order. Oldest grandson has a basketball tourney tomorrow morning a couple of counties over. May pass on that one. Sunday, Church responsibilities; Youngest grandson has travel league ball games.

November 10, 20232 yr Popular Post Congrats Larry & to your misses. 40 years is quite the investment for your wife, at this point she will probably have to keep you. All the sleigh runners are stained, working on the bodies now. Should have them done by Thanksgiving.
November 11, 20232 yr Popular Post Congrats to Larry on making it that long , just wait til it gets over 50. Been at the Ag Museum all week . It has been good but not a record. Sold 75 tops so far and will probably top 100 tomorrow.
November 11, 20232 yr Popular Post Congrats to Larry! Nov. 18 will be our 51st..... Might try to get some blanks planed down to 3/4" thick, either today....or Monday... @ 1100hrs, today...a moment of silence will be observed.

I think we will be on the road, heading up to woodworking Mecca O-HI-O for Thanksgiving. I'll be out of pocket and miss any of the festivities that you might be planning.
