Christmas ornaments you have done

It is to that time of the year so why not have a thread on just ornaments everyone here has turned. I will start with a new one from the Mike Peace video in the Wednesday Turning post. This is my version of the Candle Holder Ornament. Colors are metallic gourd inks. Added some wax drip using Puff Paint.IMG_8287.jpeg.218969f04f99b9a8775ec15dbcbb2210.jpeg

You guys sure do nice stuff!

Really great ornaments, @Gerald. The addition of the wax drippings really makes them special!

I might have to try these. I don't usually turn ornaments.

Love the candlesticks! The mice too! I haven't started on any this year but here's a blast from the past.

All of these are super!  Not sure that SWMBO would go for mice(!)... but I think they're great

Great work by all. The candle drip is a great enhancement detail @Gerald.

Earlier this year I made 36 birdhouses and gave them to my cousins at the family reunion in September.  I only made a few with the bird.

The time I spend on these are not much lately and still have many miles to go before they will hang on a tree. My reasoning is other folks might want some and my time is mostly spent on other things in the shop plus yard work.

Lots of steps in work making each ornament. Fun, yes but there is only 62 hours each day and still get to bed about 7 or 8 each night.  And Bernadette don't come in from her shop till about 8.30 or 9.

But since I have seen all the different things your guys are making it has me thinking I should stretch the days out a little longer....

   Lew I am glad I don't have 36 cousins.

I do stack the wood about three or four pieces at a time to scroll saw more at a time

Those are cool Jess.

I love those! I think they would be pretty painted red, gold, or silver.

As usual Patch, very creative and well done.

BTW, didn't the Texas government just give you an extra hour last weekend?:PWe Hoosiers got ours.:WonderScratch:

Yes Dave, don't you think the govt was nice to us Texans.  Once a year when we get that extra hour I use it trying to catch a fish. If I accidently catch one I throw them back so they will grow more for the next year but it seems like I keep catching the same fish that must be stunted.  Crazy for I don't put anything on the hooks cause I don't like to eat fish.

Really great looking ornaments. Can't wait to see paint job.

Gerald I have been thinking of making each piece of wood a different bright color and if each ornament has 10 different pieces of wood I will need to catch a rain bow for more colors.  Things anymore depends on how I feel that day when I start the painting episode. But for sure I will use a regular brush instead of the air brush even though I have a sink to clean the bottle and and the passages of the air brush, it is still time consuming.

just figured out why my plastic glue bottles have lasted many years where guys were saying they have to buy glue bottles often. I have water in my shop is the main reason.
