November 3, 20232 yr Popular Post Friday again folks! Not much happening here, Mother Nature closed the outdoor shop on me. Did help Bruce fire up the boiler next door and had to replace a 3 1/2" piece of 1" black pipe in the steam pressure supply line. Not sure what I'll do for the weekend. What's on Your weekend Agenda?
November 3, 20232 yr Popular Post I'm still restricted on lifting stuff (the hernia surgery) but I intend to re arrange some tools in the shop using a hydraulic lift table for the heavier stuff. Along with this will be some shop clean up getting the dust out of the areas I normally can't sweep. All this, of course, depends on Marie not doing any Thanksgiving baking this weekend. If shw does that I'll be in the house helping her, she's not not getting around too good after here back surgery.....but she doesn't think she has to give up baking enough food for a battalion.
November 3, 20232 yr Popular Post If I can get the little adjustable table finished, gonna try to turn a Christmas tree I saw at the woodturners club meeting last nite.
November 3, 20232 yr Popular Post Plan to uncover the tomato plants later to see if they survived winter this week. No doubt they'll need a water transfusion if they made it. Yard could use mowing along with leaf mulching but with 30+mph winds, we'll see. May see what I can stir up in the garage if/ when it warms up a little. Sunday, church responsibilities. Youngest grandson probably has some travel league basketball games too, just haven't received the time schedules yet. Supposed to have their medal ceremony from winning last week's tourney. Medals didn't arrive in time last week. Right now I'm trying to decide if I should make a second round of coffee for today. Of course the bigger quandary is trying to decide how/ where to use that extra hour of time the gubmint is giving me this weekend. Maybe I'll just put it In a safe place and use it to pay the spring forward time tax. Let's see, putting it in this drawer with my pencils and tape measures should be a good place? I'll remember that come mid March no problem.
November 3, 20232 yr Popular Post I left off buying a new ceiling fan and installing it in my son's room. The 24 year old one almost literally burned up yesterday , well it was smoking.

November 4, 20232 yr Popular Post "Ve haft Verk to do.." Left end needs one more Mortise chopped...side needs the stiles to be flattened, and their feet profiles sawn..then MAYBE a glue-up? While my internet went down ( same thing every night about this time) chopped the last Mortise (YAY!) cut 2 foot profiles..flattened and smooth a few parts...and "adjusted" one part's "attitude".....then dry fit Side #2 all together...MIGHT try to do a glue up, Saturday? We'll see...stay tuned.. Edited November 4, 20232 yr by steven newman interwebby tangled up
November 4, 20232 yr Popular Post Meeting our sons and families at our favorite favorite breakfast joint this morning. Huge portions and a multi page menu of nothing but breakfast items. Just a sample. Edited November 4, 20232 yr by Gene Howe
November 4, 20232 yr Popular Post I'll take one of everything listed (except the avocado toast). But the King Kong looks especially good.
November 4, 20232 yr Popular Post We've had a solid taste of winter these last few days, well one day anyhow. It's been pretty cold in the AM and only yesterday got back to comfortable in the PM. The week ahead though looks more like fall. All we need is a bit, quite a bit, of rain. But I'll take the fall temps and be happy. Putter around on the 'puter in the morning while it's cool. Venture out to the shop for the afternoon. Making a picture frame sled for the table saw and watch the UGA game in between commercials... Waiting on a couple needed measurements from "up north" so that I can plan out a small bathroom vanity that we will carry up to O-HI-O for Thanksgiving in kit form. That would change up my whole weekend if I could move forward on that project
