Everybody survive the weekend?    Monday?   Monday?   Plans for the week?

Maybe later this week, this will be standing up on it's own 2 feet?

Been working on ideas for an adjustable height table for my laser. First idea was a bust maybe the second one will be successful.

Limited shop time today. Lots of errands to run.  Most importantly, filling the propane tanks. It's best to be prepared. It's not too chilly in the shop, presently but the time is coming. 

When it wasn't raining over the weekend, it was drizzling rain. Managed to get a few tools refurbished.

 

Long afternoon yesterday attending youngest grandsons league opening basketball tourney which they won. Trip to Menards after, then supper.

 

Domestic duties today. Debating to cover the tomatoes or call the season a wrap. Our church hosts a Trunk 'er Treat tomorrow evening. Shop time will be limited. 'Tis the season when your tongue sticks to the tools, too cold to be out there.

Yet another birthday for me tomorrow.  Yes, I was born on Halloween.  Explains a lot doesn't it.    Now 11 months to retirement. 

 

How old will I be?  Find the first prime number starting with a 6.  Here is the simple version of the formula.

Down at my son’s property. Have a friend doing bush hog and we are doing weed eating and moving some wood to 🔥 pit. Can’t burn due to 🔥 ban but will be ready. Hope to get into shop for some turning if the knee holds out as it is getting a rest right now.

Got the first poly on the step today. Tried a mix of stains yesterday and looked like walnut . So sanded that off and tried Ipswich Pine.

I dunno.   For an exercise step I think I'd paint it with some form of floor texture paint.  You know, the kind painted on the floors where good grip and no slip is the desired result.

Good point actually. Could use something like THIS.  IIRC, therapy department I used at our local hospital has strips on pretty much everything. Thinking back on this, they did use a step box similar to this. I had to use it to test and improve my balance early on before they'd let me progress to the titewire over the canyon.

Will have to look at that, but for me it is a balance issue so have it at the counter.

Numbers modulo was one of my favorites in group theory.  For those unfamiliar with it,   a mod(b) = the remainder when a is divided by b

 

but n! where n is in the 60s is a big number, but n+1 will not be a prime as it is even

The formula was really just for fun especially since this data is much easier to obtain from a table.  61 is the first prime starting with a 6.

Just for grins, I bet all of you use mod arithmetic every day.  Clock time is (mod 12) +1      Thus, 11 + 5 = 4
