Good Monday morning!

Good Monday morning Patriot Woodworkers! What did you get done over the weekend, and what have you planned for the week ahead! Inquiring minds want to know. Please tell us what's happening in your shops, your life, and any events going on with you. Thank you for being here folks!

That didn't last long!

Some of you may notice we no longer have our Amazon ads and links in place, I gave it a couple weeks and not much came from it. I think our click statistics were 12 clicks in two weeks, in order for it to make any noticeable income we need to be much higher than that. And the space the Amazon ads were taking up aren't worth it, we are much more valuable than that my friends! :)

And, I tried the Google AdSense ads for a week and I hated them once again, I guess I had to try them again to remember that I hated them the last time I tried it, it's just way too commercial for my taste. I don't like the looks of them, I don't like the content.

That being said, there was great income potential for those Google AdSense ads, they were actually pretty successful, we were generating income from the first day we installed them, by extrapolating the numbers of daily income we were set to pull in about a 100 bucks a month.

But in my opinion, it's not worth it to sacrifice what I think is a wonderful "No Ad's" environment feel and appearance, I did not like them one bit, and I felt if I didn't even like them, you all certainly would not!

So, back to things as usual, and I personally am happy with "things as usual".

And folks, for all who have contributed to our mid year fundraiser, THANK YOU!

I love a well done video.

I found this video on a Patreon page I am a member of, and one I visit frequently put in place by the folks at Mortise and Tenon Magazine.

I love a good story on architecture that involves stones, block and wood. They were told it can't be done, that the skills were lost to the ages and they'd be hard pressed to find a contractor who could accomplish such a thing. After much praying, and research, they finally found one.

No matter what walk you come from, if you love good hand work like this, you can enjoy this video :)

Debate today is whether to try going to the shop (with camera in hand) or just sit around all day on the computer....will see after Lunch.

Yep, this IS a Monday.....leave it at that...

Gonna be too hot to do much outside this week. Maybe I can get some shop time.

Since Marie got out of the hospital from here back surgery my role as caregiver has expanded greatly. It's not likely I'll be doing much of anything for the next 4 weeks or so.

So we'll see you here more Fred, you'll need to come here for a dose of humor, and a place "where everybody knows your name". :)

Man it's beautiful here right now, finally we got a reprieve from all the heat. This is how it normally is in my parts, the constant heat days start getting sporadic, we get nice cool off periods, then we get a heat belch for a few days, then longer cool off periods, than a day or two of high heat, then we start settling into Fall.

Don't guess anyone is at home today. Got out early and put the limbs I had cut  or at least some into cans to put out. Watered some stuff and a good thing because we did not get any rain that was forecast for best chance today. Got into the shop and worked on a couple items for my store. Got an event Saturday so I guess that is the focus for the week.

Started mowing again Saturday; 2nd time in a week. Things were going so well for a change, until, they didn't. :BangingHead:

You can read about it if you wish or completely bored from the link below.

Oldest grandson has an away football game tonight (Tuesday) assuming it doesn't get rained out. Rest of week will depend on weather. Rain in the forecast every day now through Friday. Have lots of outside work to yet done. Also need to figure out why/where big mower is vapor locking after an hour or so runtime. Would love to get some fun shop-time in that didn't include mechanical repairs of some sort.

we'll see if the angle iron preserves the plywood against muzzle blast beyond the first match.

Went out and did most of the mowing.  Hot until a cloud passes in front of the sun.  Amazing how much cooler it feels.  Going to go finish up after the break.

you'll note the wire, and no screws.  there is also a small bead of RTV sealant (had some black, let's use that) underneath each piece.

wire is standard rebar wire, very ductile, twists without breaking, and we have a supply of it at the range.  figured screws would pull out/back out over time, only have 1" of plywood to bite into.  wires are twisted together on the other side and then flattened so they are not a snag hazard.

Had an unwanted visitor last night.....a large BAT decided to try flying around IN my house ( no. NOT my Belfry..)

Was last seen being flushed down the toilet,,,,whether he wanted to or not....since there have been reports of Rabid Bats down near Dayton, OH....we did NOT take any chance.....Broom slammed his but up against a wall....then a "Gripper" ( that I use to pick stuff up off the floor) grabbed him, and hauled him to the bathroom...The cold water seemed to wake him up a bit...too late....he is now in the sewer system...

And this was the second bat in about a month....seem to be coming down the chimney through the Fireplace.....May have to find a stack of bricks, mix a bit of mortar, and seal the fireplace off.....unlined, so we don't use it anyway...might turn it into a Fake Mumford?

Lumber supplies are at ZERO, until after the 3rd Wednesday.

Eye ball surgery is rescheduled for the 26th of this month...in Piqua, OH.    we'll see...and, they will do the other eye ball 2 weeks later...

 Oh yeah, Bruce's Astro needs the ignition housing replaced. Got past the "Keypass" system only to find out the other sensor in the housing went bad. :(

:throbbinghead:

New one should be here in a couple of days, but being "Two Weeks From Anywhere" who knows? :WonderScratch:
