John --, in my limited experience with changing out plumbing----sometimes the washer in the shut-off valve dislodges or breaks and when you turn the valve back on the piece migrates up the line. A quick check is to turn the shut-off back off and see if you still get a flow from the faucet. if yes, then the washer is shot. if no, then you had a different problem. Along the same line---the screw that holds the washer usually corrodes to the point that it doesn't hold the washer. Removing the stub of the screw is a real PITA. Report

September 16, 20232 yr Popular Post comment_321204 The kitchen hot water gets low on pressure and flow once in awhile. Took off the supply hose and there was a big piece of rust blocking the opening. I used a small screw driver to break it apart, flushed it out and now it's fine. Happens every once in awhile but what do you expect from a 100+ year old house. Report
