September 20, 20232 yr Author Likely above what I was paid for for teaching. When I retired I was the lowest paid associate professor in my department. I had two sisters who started out teaching music. Both my parents were also music teachers. When budgets got tight the first areas that got cut were the arts (band and choir, art and ceramics, etc.). The two sisters realized the math department was always funded, and so they took jobs teaching math (which music has much in common with) and were paid more than twice what they had been paid teaching music. A bit sad I am as I know personally how much the diversity of education I had including music and art and drafting and woodworking and metalworking along with math and history and science, etc., benefited me as an adult. 4D
