Friday July 14th 2023-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Friday again folks! :D

:ChinScratch: Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" I'm trying to figure whether the weather is going to give me enough time for a boneyard run. :WonderScratch:

Need to see if I can find a good A/C compressor for the Pilot that won't break the bank. <_<

Did manage to figure out how to get a bit of rain,...Plan to do anything outside, it will rain!

Might have something to do with Harley Davidsons 120th anniversary party going on this weekend. :WonderScratch:

Can't say we don't need it, some farmers have started to plow under what's left of their crops due to the borderline "Severe Drought" conditions here.

Not sure if they're going to try replanting or not.

So, as I try working around the weather,...

What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

Praying for rain. Probably could do that all day. Wouldn't help.:(

Working on a 3/4 X8X10 oak scroll saw puzzle that I started 3 days ago. I'm slow. And, the heat will run me outta the shop by 15:00. Of course, my ADD kicks in, too. I've got the scroll saw station as comfy as can be but, I'm only good for an hour or so at a time. Then, I just gotta do something else for a bit. Like go to the air conditioned house and nap.

As age creeps up, the woodworking gets smaller, my joints get stiffer, the hands are shakier, and the vision is fuzzier. Not to mention the memory is shot. We'll keep at it, though.

Nothing planned but always find something to keep myself amused.

Got the bending brake for the trim coil yesterday and have most of the pieces made. Hope to finish up with the bending and get started on installation. Beauregard has a vet appointment to get his nails trimmed so that will slow the progress.

I've gotten into a woodworking slump and haven't been doing any woodworking for weeks now. Tied up with a new remote telescope project that is consuming time and patience. Rain has been too much this month with over 6.5" so far and temps in the  high 90's. But I do have a woodworking class in a nearby town on using hand planes so that's a good thing. I have a number of old hand planes handed down from my deceased Father-in-Law and they need a proper education to use as intended. He was just shy of 101 when he passed back over 21 years ago and was a self taught woodworker who did some beautify work which is proudly displayed in our home in lamps, Grandmother clocks, Granddaughter clocks, mantle clocks....there's a trend here. He made well over 30 Granddaughter clocks for friends and relatives. Maybe this class will lend itself to respectively using his planes.

Need a kick start as I have 2 in-progress blanket chests that nee to be completed. One is for my oldest Granddaughter. Just need the butt hinges and finish and attach the top.....

Happens to the best of us Steve...well I'm not the best of us or anything, but same here; always something to divert our attention from what we enjoy.. Great to have you posting just the same. Looking forward to hearing about and seeing more of your plane collection plus the progression of projects. Always welcome to just drop by and chat about what's happening too. Wish we had some of your rain.

Mowing accomplished earlier this week. Now trying to recover from either being stung or most likely a spider bite on / near my right eyelid. Swelling and itching has subsided quite a bit but still very annoying. At least I can see out of it again.

Did manage to get all new wiper blades on Buick yesterday. What used to be a 10 minute job in the old days, only took about 1-1/2 hours.:BangingHead:  Still trying to figure which task(s) to attempt today. I'm unsupervised until 9P tonight. Monthly men's breakfast tomorrow AM; church responsibilites Sunday. Free time in between TBD. Hoping we'll get some of the rain forecast. Our part of the state remains under Severe Drought conditions.

Currently waiting on phone to finish update to Android 13. Hope the phone will work after that.

PSAFor you donut lovers near a Krispy-Kreme...today is their 86th Anniversary Sale.. Buy a dozen at regular price, get another dozen for 86 cents. Limit of 4 dozen in store purchase at that price. Sadly, closest KK is far away.

Getting packed for tomorrows turning meeting and demo. Not much after that for the weekend except church.

by the way I got some walnut seeds in and have in fridge. Not sure if we will plant in three months on ground or pot for spring.

Finished up another set of boxes for the patients at Children's Hospital.  Then cleaned off the assembly table so we could put together the 5 quilts that my wife has in process (adhesive on  padding to back and front panels).  Was going to move in the new/vintage jointer to the shop today with some help, but it's pouring rain, so that's put off.   Also working on varnishing the front door of the parsonage that needs to wait for the rain to stop.
