April 14, 20233 yr Popular Post Friday again folks. Been a heck of a week here "Two Weeks From Anywhere". Bruce is now up to needing transmissions in two out of five vans, and possible fuel injectors on a third. Did manage to get the 92 G20 running right after replacing the coolant temp sensor, and electronic spark control module. The 2000 Express requires a model 4L60e transmission that was only used for the 1999, and 2000 model years. Bruce isn't sure if he'll bother with the 95 G30, Mother Nature has removed a good portion of the body. So, Bruce, & Jim are out "Curb Shopping" for the weekend with the 92 G20, and 05 Express and a trailer. Me, I'll be trying to get the mowers ready and some of the yard cleaned up this weekend providing I don't get a "Resue Me" call. With that, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
April 14, 20233 yr Popular Post As granny used to say, "I got me a crick in me back". Been painful for 3 days. Exercises and a brace make it almost tolerable. It's slowly easing up. No breakfast of Aleve this morning, at least. I'll do some scrolling today. I can sit for that.Tomorrow is our granddaughters 5th birthday. Big party! So no shop time, tomorrow.

April 14, 20233 yr Popular Post drove an hour each way yesterday to pick up a children's sized picnic table for a neighbor. it's in rough shape. i'm pretty sure i could have made one from scratch for less than the cost of the gas i used. sigh....but that's what neighbors do, help each other. i pointed out some of its flaws and told her that i could fix it up later in my shop.

April 14, 20233 yr Popular Post Going to see about cutting the grass. Don't think all of it is high enough yet. Probably get some shop time in.
April 14, 20233 yr Popular Post Tried mowing 2 days ago, didn't work...the grass isn't there yet. This morning I burned a large juniper bush I cut down that was literally covered with bag worms that were killing it. Revenge is sweet. This bush was on the edge of the pond so i couldn't use insecticides on them. Anyway, so more yard work today while it's still warm.

April 14, 20233 yr Popular Post Busy week with all evenings accounted for between, meetings, youngest grandson's soccer matches, his 9th birthday party, and his elementary school spring musical. Did get some yard work done. Won't get it mowed before the rains come in this weekend. Men's breakfast tomorrow AM. Sunday, church responsibilities. Several sporting events too from the rumor mill but nobody has revealed yet what the rest of my plans will be for the weekend. Today started early. Took my wife to Westside burbs of Indy for an orthopedic spine/ neurologist surgeon meet and greet. After exam, x-rays, review of MRI, consultation revealed she needs back surgery similar to what I experienced 2 years ago. Another MRI and consultation with her cardiologist required before surgery can occur. Mid-May at the earliest; she said she would prefer to wait until August. We'll see. Surgery would be in Indianapolis. After, since we were less than 20 minutes away, went to Portillos for lunch which serves some tasty Chicago dogs. Took her back to work, I ran some errands, came home, prepped some pork chops and put in slow cooker. It's feasible I may have dozed off after?? About an hour + or so I can't seem to recall.
April 15, 20233 yr Popular Post Well the good news is I got an order for Dice cups, 25 of them and maybe more. Also Sold a prototype of a dice tray with more to come if the changes meet expectations.

No, completely different group based out of Indianapolis. This was totally her decision to go with this group. They are the premiere sports medicine group in the state providing services to many HS, college and professional teams as well as treating non-sports related injuries. Not that we were unhappy or disappointed necessarily with my surgeon as he has his own practice and seems to be highly regarded within the Midwest. My options at the time were basically non-existant.
