March 10, 20233 yr Popular Post Friday again folks. Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" Mother Nature sent us 8+ inches of heavy wet snow, just in time for the weekend. Power has been intermittant, so I'm going to have to make this post while we do have it. I've got shoveling to do, not even going to try doing it in one shot. Looks like shoveling will be my weekend project, they're predicting more of the same for tonight. So with that, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
March 10, 20233 yr Popular Post I began doing some yard work the last couple days and we are getting a bit of rain now. Supposed to be nice tomorrow and more rain on Sunday. So... today is "paperwork" day maybe. Taxes need finishing up. I might sketch up drawers for the garage cabinets and get up a materials list. If Saturday is not raining will be mowing the lawn.
March 10, 20233 yr Popular Post No snow scooping on my agenda, Larry. Got an appointment this morning to service the old 250 V10. In a few thousand more mile's, it'll be time to change the plugs.$$$ Then a trip to a Bosch repair facility for the SCMS. I took off a bunch of parts in anticipation of receiving a 3D printed dust chute. Looks like it'll be a while before it arrives. In the mean time, I need the saw. The problem is, I can't remember how to reassemble it. The manual is no help. I had a similar problem when reassembling the FrankenSmith after our move. One of these days I'll get smart and take notes and pictures before picking up a 🪛. By noon, it should be operational and the scrollsaw stand can proceed. Those plans are on the back of an envelope somewhere. But, it's just 2X4s and plywood. I think I can handle it. To be continued.
March 10, 20233 yr Popular Post Loading a couple of goats for the auction tomorrow. Weather report is calling for rain and thunderstorms again today so I think shop time will consist of making a few utensils. Been wanting to try my hand at some spatulas and spoons and there's some wormy oak sitting in the scrap bin that's been giving me funny looks.
March 10, 20233 yr Popular Post had some excavating done yesterday, and they cut a drain tile and 3 120V power feeds to some pond outlets yesterday. I was planning on repair today, but it's way too nasty...cold and rainy, so that will wait. Might be piddling in the shop later, trying to help another guy out with some info on restoring a Dewalt RAS he has.
March 10, 20233 yr Popular Post Nothing particular planned. Weather not supposed to be the greatest so I will probably find something to do in the shop.
March 10, 20233 yr Popular Post well yesterday was a sell day, got rid of some of the const. co. tools, found some scaffold i need to do a warranty repair, tried to organize and clean up shop, get the drawer faces, on, but seems like just about everyone i know left alive decided to call, text or stop by, i'd just get in the zone and someone would show up and want to ''share'', lol. do enjoy the comradry, but somedays i'd just like to get in the zone and put the finish on some things, today, cut up some 2x for scaffold support blocks, some ply wood to protect the landscaped area, fella used fake grass so gotta cover it so troops dont demolish it, gonna be a warm one, and just hoping all the gents i employed for tomorrows job works out and show up. ugh, and i though i was retired, happy friday, just glad everything is functional. rj in az
March 10, 20233 yr Popular Post Using today as a "sick day." I feel fine, just sick of miserable weather. A few errands tomorrow. Sunday, church activities. Waiting to hear about basketball schedule. Still waiting on a couple tree services to respond for removal of the fallen fir. Since we're in the season of cold, damp, and mud, garage remains closed. Tomorrow night, I need to access the account at the Daylight Savings & (Loan) to transfer 1 hour of daylight to the evening account fund. Still doesn't make sense but some kind of 18th century law. Have to transfer it back this fall. So confusing. End of rant as my spring is wound so tight is may jump forward.
March 11, 20233 yr Popular Post I'm in the same boat as Larry. except for the power issues. the highlight is that Friends are coming over tomorrow afternoon to do the final planning for our trip out west. the warm sunshine is much anticipated.

March 12, 20233 yr Popular Post Lake Havasu City : I remember when the city was being built. I had spoken to a sales rep about buying land there back in the 60's .Unfortunately I wasn't able to meet the requirement which required begining to build within one year. Terms were that if I didn't begin building within one year the property would revert back to the seller. Was looking at land on Lake Havasu. Years later they moved the London bridge there. Never made it to Arizona. Edited March 12, 20233 yr by Al B
