December 26, 20223 yr Popular Post Monday? The day after Christmas? There is NO way I am even going close to Wall E World, today......Meh.. Going to re-try the branding iron, once the Witch's Brew has fully dried.....not sure what will go inside the box, YET. Box was a way to see IF I could make something with just a single board... 6 bottles of Guinness Draught Stout arrive yesterday...sitting in a wooden carrier, WITH a bottle opener on one end...film later.....along with a package of sliced cheese (gone) and Peppered Salami( 1/2 gone) Washed down with a single Guinness, of course.. Pills taken, have not heard from the Boss what the schedule is for today...YET. 16 cloudy degrees outside...a "heat wave"!
December 26, 20223 yr Popular Post Monday I wasn't planning on going anywhere today if I could help it but then I read,... 24 minutes ago, steven newman said: 6 bottles of Guinness Draught Stout Maybe the checkout in Woodmans Liqour Department won't have a line that takes an hour to get through like the Grocery Store was last mid-week. On the bright side the Pilot started right up after sitting three days in sub-zero temperatures yesterday. Had a great meal at the Stepsons. Also for now those sub-zero temeratures and winds are "OUTTA HERE" We're actually in positive double digit temps today with Thursday, & Friday to be in the 50's.
December 26, 20223 yr Popular Post Vacation this week. Should be warm enough to spend some time in the shop tomorrow. Right now I still need seal skin parka, gloves, ice axe, and dog sled to make it across the back yard. Meeting with a new AAW member from Brenham later today. Needs a helping hand with lathe and tooling questions. Still looking for an upright freezer carcass, maybe someone will answer the ad. Need to setup Elbo2 hollowing rig and give that a try at some point. Have not previously delved into hollow forms but it's about time to figure that out. .40
December 26, 20223 yr Popular Post The friend picked up the turned legs Saturday evening, just waiting to hear if they worked on the cabinet he is restoring.
December 26, 20223 yr Popular Post R&R today. Last couple of weeks have been pretty hectic plus the severe weather adding a little stress. Mrs. is on vacation this week. Tomorrow, a trip to "Boilertown" for a haircut, stop by dealer for a driveability test of Buick, (symptoms pointing more and more toward a failing torque converter???) plus a few other errands. Wednesday, youngest granddaughter returns to campus; daughter has early AM scope procedure of her esophagus as a result of the Thanksgiving day scare. Shop activity remains on hold as long as ones tongue sticks to the steel tools Ralphie.
December 26, 20223 yr Popular Post For us today is recovery day from yesterday. I have to pack up the leftover desserts from the pile Marie made and put them in the freezer, then some house cleaning chores to kind of straighten up the mes made yesterday. While Christmas was wonderful, I'm really glad to see it over.

December 26, 20223 yr Popular Post Pallet Santa showed up today. He dropped off a dozen pallets with better than HD wood , lots of it in each one and 25 more in the back, I'm well on my way to a new wood shed. The shed in the back was made from all pallet and wood
December 26, 20223 yr Popular Post John Love that new link. Headed to shop to start on new project, side tablet for the wife with ambrosia maple top and leopardwood drawer faces. She said I can pick the design so not to see what wood I have in shop. Finish two drawers for a lathe stand I picked up will come first as they are on clamps now. Pics at the 10 o'clock news.
December 27, 20223 yr Popular Post Boneyard run today, Stepsons Cobalt needs rear brakes before he starts work at Harley Davidson January 2nd. I'll be the one that looks like my mommy dressed me. 7° now forecast high 25°.

I found the entire website fascinating and educational, not the traditional American Revolution Period website that stands by convention, but there truly is critical thinking opportunities there. I have their articles coming to my inbox, one of the few I actually enjoy seeing in my inbox.
December 27, 20223 yr Popular Post Grandsons got a special Christmas gift for their grandma. Youngest was so excited for her to open it, he stopped opening his gifts until she opened the present. I got it installed yesterday afternoon.😂
December 27, 20223 yr Popular Post This week is all about organization and shop cleanup and it is going pretty well so far. Next up will be designing/building a sharpening station which is desperately needed.
December 27, 20223 yr Popular Post It was cold at the boneyard, and of course I was the only one that"Mommy Dressed". Didn't find any decent drums for the Stepsons Cobalt but did pick up a pair of really nice tires on rims for it. $70.00 for the pair. Bruce found nice brake drums, and rotors for his 2000 Express $40.00 for all 4. (Drums at AutoZone $111.99/ea, Rotors $139.99/ea.) Edited December 27, 20223 yr by Larry Buskirk

December 28, 20223 yr Popular Post Just arrived back from the coast. Holiday traffic was awful as usual. I’ve been putting off demoing the laundry room but it looks like I have tested the boss’ patience and it’s time to get at it. Paul
December 28, 20223 yr Popular Post Christmas decorations all stored away for now. Got a few easy scroll saw puzzle patterns copied. Hope to finally get a couple cut today. It's been over 25 years since I've done any scroll work.
