December 2, 20223 yr Friday again folks! Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" after the past two days of not warming up to freezing we started the day at 36° , now 39° headed for 52°. I'm not sure what I'll be doing this weekend, still trying to figure out Bruce's 05 Express van. Have it down to two codes for the SRS (Air Bag) system. (Both point to Driver Frontal Deployment Loop) The two codes have me scratching my head. B0 022 (Driver frontal deployment loop resistance low), & B0 026 ((Driver frontal deployment loop open) In my warped mind, the two codes are opposites, and the circuit can't be both open, and have low resistance at the same time. So, while I trying to make sense of what's going on there, What's on Your Weekend Agenda?
December 2, 20223 yr Popular Post In the shop, still messing with those mesquite rounds. Later, phyl and I will go out for a sushi/sashimi lunch. Have a return for Amazon at the UPS store near the Sushi place. Then, to walmart for some hanging file holders. The rest of the day is TBD. I'm sure a nap is to be had. Saturday and part of Sunday will be finally mounting those rounds on their respective Limbert table legs. Should have some photos. As Bandit says, stay tuned. Also on Sunday we'll be measuring for the new front steps we've been putting off. Sometime next week or the following week, I'd like to fire up that scroll saw for some practice cuts. Just depends on how long it takes me to build those steps.
December 2, 20223 yr Popular Post All of the rounds that I brought to the shop a few weeks ago have been processed into blanks. I have stock on the shelves again! I'm finally at a point where I can turn something again. I need to move stuff into "Harry". Install the gun safe, load control, and the vehicle go bag. .40

December 2, 20223 yr Popular Post I have been grabbing time where I could this week to cut the joinery for the wife’s patio chair. The base is pretty much done at this point, just have to profile all the pieces , knock out a bunch of dowels for the drawbored tenons, and get it all assembled. Have to cut the ledgers for the seat and get those in place and then I can start on the back assembly.

December 2, 20223 yr Author After doing a bit more research, it turns out that DTC B0 022 is the passengers side. B0 026 could be the steering wheel clock spring, or the Sensing, and Diagnostic Module. Might explain why the steering column covers were missing the screws.
December 2, 20223 yr Popular Post Tomorrow, oldest grandson has a basketball tournament next county seat east. Youngest granddaughter has a swim meet versus her sisters college. Update: postponed both her coaches and at least one swimmer tested COVID + in last 12 hours. It'll be livestreamed. Also tomorrow is Mrs. Grandma Grandpadave's XXth birthday. Probably should plan for dinner out? forgot; more important update: B10 Football championship at 8P. Sunday, church responsibilities followed by dress rehearsal for the Christmas program. Lunch for the cast afterwards. I'm cast as the Narrator. Since the wind is roaring today from the south, thinking about paragliding north to visit the Buick. I'm a glutton for bad news. May stop by Harbor Freight (go Harbor Freight) and since Dunkin-Donuts is in same plaza, window shop both. Surely one of those places has a birthday gift my wife needs? Probably should pick her up a card while I'm out. Edited December 2, 20223 yr by Grandpadave52

You did mention naming it "Harry" in your Monday post. I named our "06" Pilot LX "LEX", it's actually a Johnny Cash "One Piece At A Time version". It's got parts from 03-08 Pilot LX's, EX's, & EXL's. I go to those pull your own parts yards. Tailights: 03-05 red lense taillights (Cheaper than the clear 06-08's got the pair for less than a single clear goes for) Roof Rack, & Cross Bars: 03 EXL Rear Mud Flaps: Same 03 EXL OEM Hitch: Same 03 EXL Seats, Carpeting, Door Panels, Sub-Woofer, Tweeters: 08 EX Radio: NOS AM/FM/CD/Cassette for 05 EX, EXL. (Cheaper than boneyard) Headliner: 07 LX Compass Rearview Mirror: 08 EXL Brake Rotors: 05 EXL (Looked brand new, and are the more expensive drilled/slotted. $10.00 each.) Since it's mostly LX, and EX I sort of combined those two and came up with "LEX".
December 2, 20223 yr Popular Post We came over to the coast for my grandson’s fifth birthday party. We are staying on the boat but it’s pretty much an indoor weekend as it’s raining. I had to go out this morning and bail out the dinghy which is always a thrill in the rain. Paul
December 2, 20223 yr Popular Post I had to bail out a dinghy once, the Judge wanted him to serve a week...oh, wait...you mean a boat. I finished the last of my winter prep, we're now ready (at least as we'll ever be). Moved the tractor and the snowthrower up to the house, parked Marie's golf cart (which is usually in our garage) in the shop's storage room, and made sure the snowthrower is functioning properly. Oh, changed the battery in the Ring doorbell too, just so I wouldn't be trying to do it in the snow/cold/whatever. We are getting a couple of rooms re-carpeted next week, so moving stuff out of the way is next up this weekend. Edited December 2, 20223 yr by Fred W. Hargis Jr
December 2, 20223 yr Popular Post I think they make dingy covers😇 Took all my store over to get setup for Jingle Bell Market tomorrow. At the doctors now, routine. Just hoping and praying tomorrow is as great as the rest of the year has been. Wife still having pain from her surgery so not getting out at all. Hopefully this too will pass. She told me today she was going to go before me because she has nothing to keep her occupied. Reads like there is no tomorrow but has no hobbies. Oh well

Reads like there is no tomorrow but has no hobbies Continued prayers for her recovery as well as relief from the pain. When she's up to it, consider volunteering at local library reading to the kids. If you have a local Boys & Girls Club, same opportunities there reading to kids or mentoring/helping with after school homework. Just a couple thoughts. Just getting out and interacting helps, well unless it's a trip to Walmart.

Probably should pick her up a card while I'm out. Nixed the idea visiting the Buick. Didn't feel like fighting the insane winds we're having to drive 45+ minutes each way especially on a Friday only to get more frustrated. Did venture out to our county seat to get Mrs. a card, couple small gifts and donuts for her birthday. However to punish myself, went to the BMV to renew truck and trailer plates. I usually do that on-line. While there, I took a big gamble and finally ordered plates for the Buick..."stoopid is as stooooopid does". Well, I think I went to BMV...was in/out less than 10 minutes on a Friday afternoon, had everything I needed while there and when I left. They even said thank-you and have a great week-end. Kinda scary.

At 20 years old the Mrs. is younger than her granddaughters Been working on our daughter's dresser. Cut out the drawer parts over the week, 14 drawers total and started sanding down the edges yesterday. Today I will pull off and get back on the upper garage front wall. Had the header over the big door changed out a couple weeks ago from the water damage. Also discovered in that process some termite damage so that got repaired at the same time. So while weather cooperates I want to get the front wall done up and painted before installation of a new door. Have a ball game to watch today, SEC championship game between UGA & LSU... Go DAWGS!!!

December 3, 20223 yr Popular Post Finally got some time to start assembly on the wife’s patio chair. This is the one that is being done specifically for her so I am taking a little extra time on this one to make certain everything is as perfect as I can make it. All the joinery on this one has been cut and fitted using only hand tools and I am pretty pleased how it is turning out so far.
