August 29, 20223 yr Popular Post Morning to ya....Monday? Meh... Still trying to learn how to use a jig.. I did get a saw sharpened up, though.. Saw is a Keystone K-2 "Speedster" Wake me up, when Tuesday gets here...
August 29, 20223 yr Popular Post Yep, must be a Monday, possible severe with 88° and high Humidity/Dewpoints predicted.
August 29, 20223 yr Popular Post Over the weekend I did get the garage cleaned up, tools cleaned and put away until I can tackle the other half - likely next year. I took the Duster out for a spin, started out good but the further/longer I drove the worse it ran. I put a tank of fresh gas in and a dose of Star Tron additive. A bad skip at idle that wouldn't smooth out until about 55-60 mph. Drove it about 30-40 miles, some on the interstate with no real improvement. The week ahead? Yard work today. A lumber supply run to fab up some type of crown moulding for the garage. Hope to see the contractor this week to look at the header over the garage door. Wife gets home on Wednesday... and then likely yard work again before the holiday weekend.
August 29, 20223 yr Popular Post Trying a little idea on the lathe. First attempt failed. Pictures if I'm successful on future attempts.
August 30, 20223 yr Popular Post Found some blocks and fire brick on FB so picked them up. Took them to sons place and set up a fire pit. so wife and son say should be higher. Now he want to dig a pit. Not I said the goose to the little red hen. last week picked up two Dewalt drills with six batteries at estate sale. Well only one good battery and one fair. Thought to change to NiMH but would also need another charger and sine for the sun will let him decide on that. Oh by the way it also had a saw .
August 31, 20223 yr Popular Post Missed Monday so "hump day" update. Monday disassembled RR Trailblazer door to access window regulator; window stuck half up or down depending on how you view things. One of the cables became trapped and kinked. You'd think they would last longer than 21 years. Replacement will be here by tomorrow. Tuesday was haircut and errands day up in Boilermakerville. Plenty of outside work to do with cooler weather; good since lots of sticks, small limbs came down during storms Sunday and Monday. Still have some sorting and finding places to put auction treasures from last week.

It's been a blur since getting the 6x12x84" 350 pound c.1840 heartwood pine beam . . . but I finally finished the frame of a camp shower stall. 10.8 pounds, 3'x3'x6' using 1 1/8" x 5/16" strips laminated together. _ _ _ _ _ The 6V battery is charged, the marine pump tested, and I'm rigging up my 20 gallon water tank now.
August 31, 20223 yr Popular Post Too busy to even touch my toes. A little music to slow down the frenetic pace. Yes, it does work. 'Cause you'll begin listening and forget whatever it is you were trying to do. Then maybe realize everything does not have to get done this minute. New goal: Learn to dance this stuff. Next gal I meet who wants to teach me is a keeper!

I've listed to Tuba Skinny several times as well as a few other New Orleans street buskers. Yes Ma'am was another until they got raunchy. The gal that played the washboard joined an all female jazz band called Shake 'Em Up Jazz Band. They were (are??) quite good.
