August 26, 20223 yr Author ready for some finish after a few hundred mistakes. The first step. I tried 4 different things around the movement and finally sliced the ring around the clock and ended up about 1/2" thick and I think this fits better than.

August 27, 20223 yr Beautiful work, Jesse! A whole lot of grinding, there. How did you scallop the interior base? What's the approximate size of the finished piece? What woods did you use? Looks like maple.
August 27, 20223 yr Author Gene I used the 1x42" belt disk sander plus the Grizzly 9" oscillating drum sander. I have two of the 1x42's with 60 and 120 grit paper. And if you are ever in my area I have a third one I don't use for there is no more room in this shop. This is the joy of buying at auction from the schools. When I bid on and bought those 7 Dewalt 788's, the two 1 x 42" sanders, a few RO sanders, two electric regular flat sanders and a bunch more wood working tools were thrown in that wasn't even listed in the auction list. They said we need to get all this stuff out of this building for it is fixin to be remodeled
