I made a version of the Trent Bosch hollowing camera

Featured Replies

It works.

But this  guy has taken the idea of controlled hollowing  to another level and he's not using any electronics

He uses a pattern that he makes from the turning and  follows that with this cool set up

Cool! But how did he film the rotating piece with a stationary camera- from the inside?!?!

A borescope through the  hollow tube of the  headstock most likely.  Given his affinity for bearings he may have a way to keep it  from bouncing around if struck by debris  by using a pipe for the shaft and a  bearing race in the head stock - or something like that  It could just be  on a very rigid pipe or shaft

Seems like a lot of work to turn crappy wood to point to a John Jordan quote.

thought that at first but didn’t see any hole in the bottom when he remounted the piece. Of course video sequences can be manipulated

That's a nice looking piece of firewood, I love it when folks can make something out of nothing, and make it useful as well. I was a bit concerned about the Title 100+ Stitches, I thought I was going to see an accident in the process, then it finally dawned on me. Great video Lew. :)
