That job makes me smile! :TwoThumbsUp:First I thought you had used alternating angled slats. Then I thought you glued square lengths together and turned it hollow.  But now I'm not sure of anything! It is a mystery. :ph34r:

I had some 1.5” square pieces of walnut and cherry left from a cutting board. I glued them together, turned it round and hollowed it out.

Like Lew said, everything looks centered and even.  I like it.  Did you leave the center piece long and chuck it up to center it?

No. Thanks for the idea, I never thought of that. I found center on both ends and turned it round with a spur drive and live center. Then I cut a tenon on both ends.
