July 18, 20223 yr Author That looks pretty cool Lew, but I'm not sure how I would get the perfect alignment between the sides and top with the top being bigger than the sides and the edges are radiused? Off by a few thou and no glue joint on long grain. JT

July 19, 20223 yr Author I ordered some figure 8 fasteners from amazon... we'll see if they work as expected to hold the top on. JT
July 23, 20223 yr Author Popular Post The figure 8 fasteners came in yesterday so I got to finish the egg drawer today. Installed the small end in the sides. Fastened the top on Installed the drawer guides Weee it fits Finally finished Not too happy with the drawer guides from Menards, they close a bit hard when you get to the part that pulls the drawer in and they are NOT full extension even though the package says so... they only open 15 1/2" not the 16" they claim. Oh well it's just an egg drawer... JT
July 23, 20223 yr Looks really great! I buy my drawer slides from https://www.cshardware.com/. Probably a little more expensive but very good quality.

July 23, 20223 yr EGGsellent work on that drawer! Seriously, it looks great and I'm sure will be a welcome addition to the kitchen.
July 26, 20223 yr Author Popular Post I removed the Menards brand drawer slides and replaced them with some Everbuilt full extension ball bearing soft close from Home Depot and wow what a difference. The Everbuilt are much smoother and close better. Eggs are sorted by size and popularity, when I get a dozen I put them in a carton. The tiny one is a no yolk egg created by a speck of something. They are called Rooster Eggs... JT
