Double pictures (RESOLVED)

Featured Replies

For some tine now, whenever I Copy and Paste one of my photos, it comes up double. I have to wait until the first one shows up, delete it, then post the second one. I realize it's rather a minor inconvenience in the greater scheme of things, but at MY age I really don't have all that much time left!  :OldManSmiley:Any ideas why I'm having this problem? It only happens with photos, not with pics from the internet. :WonderScratch:

You don't have to copy/paste pictures for posting here, John.

At the bottom of your posting window is a "Drag files here to attach, or choose files..." area. Place the images there and then click on the Insert into Post. That should fix the problem.

If you upload images that are not inserted into the post they will be displayed at the end of the post

I have experienced the same thing.  Only happens on occasion and I haven't seen a pattern for the cause but it seems to happen when the snipping tool is in use.

:WonderScratch:I never use scissors when on the computer.

But, do you run with them? :D

Is this issue still occurring folks?

Did it work John? Thanks

I noticed on this past "Wednesday's..." that a double picture showed up. One in the post and the same one at the end. I know if an image is uploaded and not inserted into a post, it will show up at the end of the post but in this case the image was used in the post.

I've had that happen to me Lew, and it was a case of me accidentally uploading the same image twice but inserting only one of them, so it appeared that the same image was being used twice in the same post. It stuck the un-inserted one at the bottom, and the one I inserted where I wanted it.

Wasn't a problem for me, just letting you know. Thanks for the information.

Sorry, John, but it's been a busy few days and I haven't had a chance to try.

Still doing it!

Can you walk us through your process?

I'll try! I've always posted my pics by clicking "Copy" on the image, then "Paste" under whatever I've written. This immediately starts TWO images, the second waits until the first one is complete, then it downloads too. If I use the same system to post pics off the internet or my mail account, I get only a single picture. I can live with this, but I just wonder why this happens.

It is only happening to me when I use the snipping tool and copy and past the snip.  Everything else works fine for me.

Dan, we are seeing double images here because you uploaded them twice.

I was able to duplicate the error. What is happening is you guys are dragging your images into the text editing area, the area where you type, and for some reason it doubles the images. You need to drag and drop the images in the area I highlighted with red. If you read the text, it says "Drag files here to attach" and it mean exactly that, drag files to that area. Give it a try and let me know what you all see. Thanks for the report!

That does work but this has just started.  We were always able to just copy and paste without doubling up until just recently.  I just delete the extra before submitting. No big deal.  Drag files is extra steps.
