April 8, 20224 yr Popular Post Friday again folks. Here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" we're in day 11 of rain/snow/whatever mix "Mother Nature" has decided to throw at us. So we have now gone from "Severe Drought" to "Moderate Drought" conditions. Could have fooled me with all the ponds throughout the yard. So as I go wading across the yard,... "What's on Your Weekend Agenda"?
April 8, 20224 yr Popular Post Made it through the mid week storms - holy cow was it rough! But we came out ok, no damage that I am aware of. Spent yesterday on a junk yard run, a decent operation down by Savannah. They had about 10 Chevy Colorado p/u's on the lot and let me go out and pick and choose the parts off which truck I wanted. And their parts were quite reasonable in cost. I got everything I was looking for so I can now go about the business of wrapping this project up - but not this weekend... Daughter came in last night and will work from "home" today. She had ordered a new car last December and it is ready! After work tonight I will take her up to Macon where she picks it up. She's excited, I'm excited! I've a bunch of errands to run today and other miscellaneous chores. Tomorrow looks like clean up the yard from limb debris and mow the lawn. And too, I bought daughter a dash cam for her new car - I will likely want to get that installed tomorrow. I'm itching to get into the shop. Right now the Chevy is in there. I might roll it out Sunday so that I can make some sawdust. Remains to be seen. All in all, sounds like another weekend of "doing lots of stuff but not getting much done".
April 8, 20224 yr Popular Post Just finishing up that 11' transition strip after having to stop work yesterday to go to a nursery to pick up 50 ea. 5 gallon potted oleander plants. Saturday and Sunday will be devoted to augering holes, setting the plants and installing irrigation to each one. Those trenches have been dug, already and, the lines have been prepared with bubblers for each. There's serious doubt that I'll get back in the shop till midweek. I think this will be the last of my agricultural endeavors for this spring. But, one can only hope.
April 8, 20224 yr Popular Post Woodworking club has an all day seminar Saturday. Guest speaker on federal furniture embellishments. Should be fun. Granddaughter confirmation Sunday, followed by bee club meeting. Not much time in the shop for me
April 8, 20224 yr Popular Post Got a request for an edge grain cutting board. Starting to gather scraps and sizing them.

April 9, 20224 yr Popular Post I got the new blades in my jointer, got the table saw squared away after dragging it out of the basement and with a rainy day coming tomorrow SWMBO is looking for a soil screener. I guess it time to put all this together and make something. Another pallet wood special. Now the hard part: I need to figure out what new tool I need to make this project happen.
April 9, 20224 yr Popular Post What am I doing this weekend? As little as I can get away with....and even less IF they'll let me... Well...other than trying to cobble a table together....seeings how it IS a bit different than building box...it might even be seen by "Polite Company"
