Projects in 2021

Most of the time I feel like I'm spinning my wheels and chasing my tail.  But now and then, Kathy and I will talk about our projects.  Mine are mostly in the home improvement category, but here goes for this year...

Basement shop wired, insulated, enclosed, including suspended ceiling;

Built adjustable outfeed table (thanks to @tomp)

Built hybrid DC with parts from HF unit and Wynn filter (thanks to @Danl

Had up-flush toilet installed in basement (ripped off by plumber - next trip will be a DIY);

Built storage shed in backyard;

Painted ceilings throughout house (well, most of it), (note to self - next time paint ceilings before walls);

But the best part was the time spent with my 7 yo grandson.

Hope your year was a good one.  And thank you to all who share your expertise and good humor.

Sounds like you had a busy yet very productive year Jim. I had a long list, but the unexpected back surgery with the long ongoing recovery became the priority.

Agreed, the best part is the time with one's family and if you're blessed enough to have grandchildren that is icing and ice cream on the cake. Nothing like it. Should have had grandkids first when I was younger.:rolleyes:

Thanks for sharing your 2021 and for starting this thread!

Wow, you were productive! Wish I could say the same about me. A lot of the planned projects are still on paper :(

Heck, mine didn't even get to the "paper" part....

No paper needed, just the words "I think we should..."

We got moved! Insulated and paneled a shop. The new to us house got a new roof and two covered patios. The original flooring and carpeting got ripped out and, replaced with teak laminate. All the black tile counters in the kitchen were replaced with white quartz.  The drive ways got rocked, about ten saplings got planted (all still alive :TwoThumbsUp:), gobs of flowers and bushes were set in. Most of which survived the rabbits. phyl started and finished several quilts and 6 needlepoint projects. I built one box. :(

2021 was a crazy year looking back.

I ripped out an old above ground hot tub and a huge area of pavers and a bunch of landscaping to build a shop.

This was a project two years in the making and doing it during the height of covid was painful in the extreme.

If you ever wanted to know what $24,000 of construction lumber looked like during the height of the pandemic, I recorded it for posterity.

The actual construction project took just over 8 months but a surprising chunk of that was waiting for my overhead door to come in.
