November 5, 20214 yr Popular Post Friday again folks. This week we welcomed back @Grandpadave52 after a couple year absense. Must have been lost "Two Years From Anywhere". As to what's happening here "Two Weeks From Anywhere" the next few days are supposed to be rather nice for this time of year. So that means I can get back to getting ready for another season of "Old Man Winter". I guess I know what I'll be doing, so... "What's on Your Weekend Agenda"?

Great to be back among friends. It's been a long time coming and way past due. Just a lot of waters to navigate and I'm old school (aka stubborn according to my wife) still using maps versus GPS. The good news is I didn't fall off the edge although came close a few times. Probably should have stopped at the gas station and asked for directions.
November 5, 20214 yr Popular Post Yard still needs mowed but drying has been SLOW. I may give it a go this afternoon; if not there's always tomorrow. There's plenty other outside work to be done. I hope to get a little "shop" time in too. Days are getting numbered with cold weather gaining steam. Youngest granddaughter has a swim meet in Lexington, KY. tomorrow afternoon. I'm hoping it will be streamed. If not I can see her results real time on Meetmobile app. Don't forget to pace yourselves. Gonna be a long weekend with that "extra hour" the gubnet is giving back to us.
November 5, 20214 yr Popular Post With all the nuts, bolts and screws sorted, boxed and, labeled, it's on to the router bits. Then, hopefully build the the SCMS vac system. Sometime, in the near future, we'll tackle the re assembly of the FrankenSmith. Over the last weeks, that light at the end of the tunnel contracted to a dim pinpoint but, its brightening up a bit, now. As we look back over the last year, when we first started work on a bare tin can, we're pretty satisfied. Yet, somewhat ashamed that it's taken so long. But, we'll just keep on keep'n on. November 5, 20214 yr Popular Post Too early in the morning. 30 sunny degrees outside....Mother Nature seems to have failed to pay her Heating Bill. Have a few planes to rehab...after Knee Rehab.....Pills taken...then the Boss "needs" to go to Wall E World....
November 5, 20214 yr Popular Post Working on the gnome ornaments and a few outside chores since it is supposed to be good weather.
November 5, 20214 yr Popular Post Going to my son's property or as he calls it "The Ranch" to pick up branches and cut a few dead trees after lunch. Hope to get home with some shop time to turn some Christmas bells with handle.
November 5, 20214 yr Popular Post Gonna keep working on cabinet for mama, and got another retirement surveyors witness post to do for a surveyor who is retiring from our ranks. Here was the last one,
November 5, 20214 yr Popular Post The Fifth of November....hmm. Reminds me of my English Lit courses in college. On this day in 1605 Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the English House of Parliament. Has become to be known as Guy Fawkes Day or Gunpowder Treason day depending on where you are from. Motive was conflict between Catholic and Protestant faiths. His fate was to be tortured on the rack until revealing the names of his accomplices. Then tried and found guilty before a special commission on January 27, 1606. Fawkes was to be executed opposite the Parliament building, but he fell or jumped from the gallows ladder and died as a result of having broken his neck. Quote The Fifth of November Remember, remember! The fifth of November, The Gunpowder treason and plot; I know of no reason Why the Gunpowder treason Should ever be forgot! Guy Fawkes and his companions Did the scheme contrive, To blow the King and Parliament All up alive. Threescore barrels, laid below, To prove old England's overthrow. But, by God's providence, him they catch, With a dark lantern, lighting a match! A stick and a stake For King James's sake! If you won't give me one, I'll take two, The better for me, And the worse for you. A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope, A penn'orth of cheese to choke him, A pint of beer to wash it down, And a jolly good fire to burn him. Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring! Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King! Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray! It's been one heck of week of 10 and 12 hour days at the J.O.B. Got a lot accomplished, and a step or two closer to finishing the upgrades. My supervisor got promoted and now I have a FNG to break in. Probably going to turn out to be a JAFFO instead of helping. SNAFU. Plan to no...NEED to make some sawdust, not sure exactly what yet but I need to get away from computers for a while. .40
November 5, 20214 yr Popular Post I have a show next weekend so I’m trying to build stock that has been drastically depleted by my online store. Good problem to have.
November 6, 20214 yr Overcast and cool today is the forecast. I'll work in the shop with the door closed and the Dawgs on at noon. Working on a small entertainment center for daughter and playing practicing box building with a new (to me) box joint dado set purchased over the summer. Tomorrow and the coming week is supposed to be warm afternoons and sunny. The lawn mowing can wait until then.
November 6, 20214 yr Popular Post Gave the wooden locomotive to the little boy who smiled and wanted to play with it. It's a joy to give things to other who enjoy it. Got the rental returned and picked up the van from the body shop. Not completely satisfied but it will pass. Much better ride than that Nissan Altima. What a cracker box. Will finish mowing the back yard tomorrow and will continue working on DIL's rosary box made completely of cedar. Then next week is going to be 3 days of going to doctors. Ugh! But, the weather is going to be good.
November 8, 20214 yr Popular Post Move in last Sunday (all day) followed by rehearsals Sun-Thurs with last one dress rehearsal. Production Friday and Saturday evening, matinees Saturday and Sunday. The set did well and the actors were amazing. Done now except for the unpacking (and potentially moving to new facility) until the spring show, https://www.facebook.com/ActingUpCommunityTheatre/videos/1364930043961342/

I'll bet it was great fun 55 actors, 8 student stage crew, a couple dozen or so parents/volunteers doing costumes, make-up, props, drops, ushers, food at breaks, getting kids to set at appropriate time for their scenes, food between Saturday shows for all, and a few of us for set repair/adjustment as needed, and a couple dozen to break it all down and pack in 3 truckloads in about 90 minutes. Fortunately, it's all volunteer except for the lighting/audio tech, the filming, and the school's people there.
