I apologize if this has been answered before but I'm curious why this keeps happening.  Is there a reason why this site, at least once a week and sometimes more often, keeps logging me off?  For some reason The Patriot Woodworker and also Sawmill Creek seem to have this issue and both do it at the same time.  I know the world won't come to an end because of this inconvenience of having to re-login all the time but was just wondering why I only have to do this at these two sites?

I found that some sites log me out if I close my Internet browser and then reopen it. Funny thing is that it is not consistent even on the same site

I have also had that happen occasionally but not nearly with the frequency that happens here.  I've always thought the reason for that happening when it does was that the particular site had a software update or upgrade.  I just find it curious that when I get logged off from The Patriot Woodworker, powered by Invision Community, I also get logged off at the same time from Sawmill Creek, powered by vBulletin..

In your browser settings there are options to save usernames and/or passwords.  Perhaps that needs an adjustment.

I don't believe that is the issue.  I have username and password saved and that part is working perfectly.

What browser are you using?

I mostly use Firefox but sometimes I'll use Edge.  Maybe I should be wondering whether or not it's everyone or just me that is routinely and regularly being logged off of the site.

@sweensdv, that sounds like it could be very frustrating. Reading through this topic I am not sure what is going on with your system and why this is happening. So far your report on this is the only one I have seen, if we had more folks reporting this same issue then we could assume something is going on at our end. I will still submit a ticket to our upper IT and see if they can offer any suggestions.

I know one question they will ask, what Windows operating system are you using?

Windows 10

It is very curious that this seems to be an issue that is isolated only to me and this site and Sawmill Creek.  I do not have this issue with any other sites that I visit and prefer to remain logged into.  As I stated originally, this is not an end of the world issue to me but one that just keeps me scratching my head over.

Here is something for MS Edge on the same subject. If your goto browser was Firefox and you added Edge later, Edge may have imported setting from Firefox causing both to have the same problem.

FWIW, earlier today (09/21/21) I visited this site and was already logged in as usual.  This evening around 6:00 PM CDT I again visited this site however this time I was logged off and had to resign in.  Had an identical experience over at Sawmill Creek too.

Have you checked the links I posted?

Yes I did and my settings were already set as suggested by your link.

Just for the heck of it, could you try downloading/installing Google Chrome (or any other different browser) and see if it continues to happen?

Edit! If you install a new browser, during the installation, do not allow the new browser to import settings from the browsers you already have installed

Thanks Lew for all your help.

@sweensdv, has this issue resolved itself? Thanks.

I think I may have found out what is causing my issue.  Now, I just have to figure out why.  It seems that, for some reason, whenever I run my spyware cleaner that's when I'm getting logged off from Patriot and Sawmill websites but only those two sites.  Not sure why that is happening yet so more investigation is still needed.

I have Microsoft 10 and it tells me they check for bad things two and three times a week and I trust them for I haven't had any problems ever. I also appreciate it when they tell me I'm getting more up dates and this happens every week or two. This is all good for my little brain for I only know where the on and off switch is located.
