Smitty, I had the same issue, I moved the motor all the way to the right and that solved the issue for me. After reading your reviews, I am thinking these machines may be a hit and miss, I did not experience the same issues you are having, I must of hit on a product manufacturing date that landed on a Tuesday through Thursday, the workers weren't hungover by Tuesday, and I missed the Friday warm up to the weekend.

Some people say to buy cars with those same conditions. Maybe, back in the day but, today's robots aren't prone to alcohol abuse. :D

There are a few YouTube videos on the subject.

Thanks, Dan.  I will not check my blades to see if any of the faces of the carbides are the same 90 degree angle to the steel blade itself.  All mine have alternating faces and one has ATB.  Now, my steel blades without the carbide tips are also angled.  I really appreciate this.

After watching a few vids of this device in action, I'm of two minds about it. On one hand, the money saving aspect is appealing. On the other hand, the inordinate time required for the set ups and, actual grinds, is daunting. Not to mention the real possibilities of totally destroying an expensive blade. Methinks my sharpening guy will still get my business.

That's my feeling also. I'll use it on something that if I screw it up---well, no loss. But a good blade will get cleaned & recleaned & recleaned again, before going out to someone who knows what he's doing.

The cost of SOME blades just do not justify the time & effort to either sharpen or send 'em out. Just buy a new one & move on.

Bought the sharpener and sharpened a blade cause all of the seven I had were dull and smoked thru wood and after sharpening I put it on the ole saw and it cut like a new blade.  Really didn’t have time to run to the store to buy another blade and boy this sharpener pulled thru.  Good machine!

Welcome aboard Bob, and thanks for the tool review :)
