Just finished the 2nd flame box elder vase, there is some pretty grain in this one too.

Decided to do a zentangle on the bottom of this one. This is one of my favorite patterns, "Phicops in a cirlce" Have no idea where the name comes from.

    Lew, believe it or not, that is only 3 coats of gloss, wipe on poly applied while spinning with a cheapo foam brush. It is sanded with 400 grit between coats. I had figured 5-6 minimum. This piece of wood just really took the finish well.

    That is one awesome turning and wood.  The second picture reminds me of my head before the remainder of my remaining hair turned gray.  :D
