March 5, 20215 yr Popular Post After visiting another turners shop I was inspired and was going to build more drawers for turning station . So I started first cleaning out the drawers I have and ended up with 7 empty drawers. So decided to update drawer storage with kaizen foam and put a lot of the turning tool accessories which were out on shelves into drawers. Next up this week was to move the lathe and the shelves hanging from ceiling. This is part done tonight. First pic is the old setup. Hope to get the most of this done by Saturday I hope because it is wearing me out.

March 6, 20215 yr Nicely done Gerald. Couple of random questions. It looks like you are using a Robust straight rest. How do you like it ? Also I know you do a traveling turning demo. What do you use for a mobile lathe ? Paul
March 7, 20215 yr Author Popular Post The Robust rest is great . That hardened steel rod means you never dig in and never need to file the rest. No I do not do a traveling demo. The club was doing demos at the museum and we brought lathes in . I have a Delta 46-460 for that purpose. It ia good little lathe with 1hp motor. When I was moving it I could remove the banjo, tailstock and take it off the stand to create a package easier to move.
March 11, 20215 yr It seems that I read a sign some years ago, that a clean and organized shop is a clear sign of a sick mind. LOL Gerald, I just read this thread and it is exhausting. Great job, though.
