February 5, 20215 yr Friday again folks. Not much going on around here, not to fun working in mid teen daytime temps. So...What's on your weekend agenda? Me? ...I think since we're going to have a week of this mid teen weather, I might just go hibernate.
February 5, 20215 yr Popular Post Wanted shelves for paint in finishing room. Found these wire shelves in my supply. Took some modifications as they were too deep. Here is dry fit after making brackets.
February 5, 20215 yr Still working on those NOCTI Micro Credentials. A friend is dropping off a laptop that died. Not sure if I can pull a Lazarus trick- PLEASE don't use your laptops while they are setting on blankets, couches or other soft surfaces that may block the air flow. As your laptop ages, dust collects inside on the fan and heat sinks which reduces the efficiency of the cooling designs. Then adding a partially/fully blocked airflow ports with soft materials and you have the recipe for melted solder joints.

February 6, 20215 yr Popular Post The Chinese maze is a true wonderment. It stays together without any glue, nails or screws. Flabberghasted.
February 6, 20215 yr Popular Post Got the Coffee Bar sanded today and hope to get it together tomorrow.
February 6, 20215 yr Popular Post Repairing mortar joints. Mostly cosmetic, but some of it has to be removed and replaced. I hope this weekend, I can get the remainder of the back and one end prepped for the mortar patches. Then will do the other end and one weekend soon, will do the front. I want to practice on the rest of the house before tackling the front. Some diamond blade and some chisel work. Hope to have it all painted before the end of the month. Come on stimulus check so I can buy some paint. LOL

That looks like it would be a simple weekend (if that long) project for Steven Newman. I decided to pull the rear seats out of my Nissan King Cab pickup. They were tiny jump seats and only served to make the whole area no good for much of anything. Have completed the back wall of the cab with some insulation, plywood and carpet. I have now started a box assembly to sit on the floor giving a nice flat area to hold stuff. I should get it done today and then spend a bit of time picking up a bit more carpeting and a set of hinges for the lids and either fabricating additional tie downs like I did for the back wall or I may luck out and find something acceptable when I pick up the hinges. This project broadened my vinyl working skills as I used HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) for the first time. It can be ironed on, and that is how we (SWMBO & I) applied it to the carpet. And with the scraps of vinyl left she wants to do a couple T Shirts for her nephews' upcoming birthdays. And, we will likely watch the Super Bowl tomorrow evening. Edited February 6, 20215 yr by Cal

February 9, 20215 yr Popular Post I will endeavor to get the photos and permission from his parents to post his picture. We get to do it all over again. In race 1 around the trickiest turn at the hallway a minor collision occurred and the car sustained damage to the front wing. It has returned to the shop for minor modification before race 2. Points were lost in the Manufacturer’s Standings. Driver was unharmed. Paul

February 10, 20215 yr Popular Post My mission was successful but not without having to adapt my plan on the fly. Upon arrival they have a curbside only service. No browsing the store or interaction with knowledgeable salespeople. BUT, they had a sign with a phone number and instructions on what to do to get something. Followed that and was able to get a can of semi gloss and gloss. While I generally do not go out and just look around, this would be one of the few places I would do so. Even ask a question or two. No matter, have product in hand and am off to the shop for rest of the day. Sawdust to be made, stuff to get put together.
