February 4, 20215 yr Popular Post This project started with a left over scrap piece I just couldn't throw away. The beautiful wood made me think I had to make something else out of it. As you can see, it is quite small, but still a vase. Not quite sure of the wood type, could be a couple I've used. Anyway, it sure is a beautiful wood.
February 5, 20215 yr Changed to miniatures huh ? Fancy that and now I can see miniature ornaments. Just turn it upside down and is a ornament bell. That is some nice work now how did you do that ? special miniature tools such as a sharpened nail? You will have to do a tutorial. I always have problems with the bottoms. All I managed to do is a flat smooth bottom. The largest is about an inch diameter, just could not get any smaller.
February 5, 20215 yr Author I didn't change to miniatures. I had a small piece that looked interesting and went with it. My wife liked it and so did my daughter. So it looks like I'll be making another one. When I first got my mini lathe, I made a few dozen tiny things. I ruined some and some came out good. After that few, I quit making them and went crazy making everything else. However I'm still crazy after these years.
February 5, 20215 yr Author Here are some of my early turnings. I goofed around with glueing scraps together too. The one on the right center is 3/4" dia, so you can get an idea of size.
