Popular Post HandyDan Posted December 20, 2020 Popular Post Report Posted December 20, 2020 I have been making Christmas ornaments for a dozen or more years as a give away item. This year i made icicles and they were also good for a lot of skew practice. They will definitely get to a family and a few friends but because of Covid most will not be given out until hopefully next year. Made 60 of these and used 5/8" birch dowel rod for the blanks. Here is my tree with all those that I made over the years. FlGatorwood, Artie, Steve Krumanaker and 6 others 9 Quote

FlGatorwood Posted December 20, 2020 Report Posted December 20, 2020 I am going to steal the idea. I need to practice with my skews. Great work and great display rack. :-) Gunny, Larry Buskirk and Cal 3 Quote

Great work and great display rack. :-) Hold the end in your chuck and bring the tail stock in to steady it. Work with the tail stock pressure and most to the chatter can be eliminated. Once done and sanded cut the tail end loose and then the drive end. Hold the icicle while cutting loose to keep it from flying away. A couple of mine got away. Cal Posted December 21, 2020 Report Posted December 21, 2020 Great work Dan. A shame they won't find their new homes until next year, especially if folks are sorta used to getting one... HandyDan and Artie 1 1 Quote
