November 7, 20205 yr @p_toad, If your insurance is like mine, they won't let you get glasses until the cataract is taken care of. I even asked what about the eye that doesn't need the surgery? Their reply "Not until after the surgery". So I found a pair of 1930'-40's glasses that I can see good enough to read with. They're my "Cousin Itt" glasses.

I even asked what about the eye that doesn't need the surgery? Their reply "Not until after the surgery". So I found a pair of 1930'-40's glasses that I can see good enough to read with. They're my "Cousin Itt" glasses. I got tired of hearing these excuses from the insurance company. Got my own glasses, then sent them a completed claim form. They rejected and said not approved. Sent in same form and highlighted the section and sent a glossy photo of the Eye Doctor's comment. it said, REQUIRED to be able to operate operate heavy machinery, or to read directions. Thus immediate need clause was met, cannot function without them. Then had my attorney for $25 add his 2 cents worth and a nice threat of going public about taking my money for insurance and not getting any coverage for NEEDED items. He even added something about TOILET PAPER was not needed but they seem to have it in stock at corporate office. They could use a hand ya know? Or go to a bring your own type deal. Took 2 weeks and a follow up email with a video the attorney suggested. After that email they fast tracked a check to me in 2 days. Edited November 8, 20205 yr by Gunny
