November 3, 20205 yr comment_246927 Back to the glue shelf life ---Family Handyman magazine ran an article earlier this year or late last year that you could add a small amount of vinegar to Titebond and other such glues if it got too thick. I have no experience, but wondered if anyone has tried this or been exposed to it. Report

Tried to get the last bit with some hot water last year and results were less than impressive. Worked great for some glue sizing work I did on a piece plywood to get a uniform color of stain. Thanks to @steven newman and others here I use more glue joinery techniques and less screws these days. Now if I am doing laminated work for turnings I go through quite a bit of glue. Report

I buy a gallon, and keep small squeeze bottles filled for use. The rest stays in the fridge. I always mark the bottle with the date of purchase. There have been times i didn't use it all and had to toss a small amount. But the gallons are so much cheaper than one-quart-at-a-time it still is a little less costly. Report
