Gene Howe Posted September 3, 2020 Report Posted September 3, 2020 One of mine was bought new in '75. The shorty was bought in 2015. Never bothered to research it's birthdate. The older one was outfitted with a Jointech SawTrain and router table. The Saw Train came with a super accurate fence which doubles as the router fence. The shorty runs the band saw and 6X48 belt sander. It's also handy for dados and, the like and, I built a couple or 3 special purpose sleds for it. Sadly, they're both in storage, now. It took me a half a day to break down the Saw train. I'm not looking forward to putting it all back together. HARO50, p_toad, Gunny and 2 others 3 2 Quote
Popular Post Masonsailor Posted September 7, 2020 Popular Post Report Posted September 7, 2020 Thanks again to all that made this SS forum possible ! Some of the members know me from the SS forum and know that I am a total addict when it comes to SS’s. I grew up with a “greenie” and have had at least one in my shop for many years. Now days my shop is a little bigger and I have 5 SS’s that stay set up in semi-permanent configurations. Two have the dvr motors and all are 510’s, one converted to a custom incra fence application. I use them daily in the shop. Can’t imagine woodworking without one. Paul p_toad, Gunny, Artie and 3 others 5 1 Quote

Popular Post FlGatorwood Posted September 8, 2020 Popular Post Report Posted September 8, 2020 My first one was given to me by a friend who had developed MS. He was no longer able to use it and not all of it was there. EBay and I became friends until I finally got all the parts that I needed which is fewer than what is available. Other users have turned out wonderful products with the smaller tables and I will deal with it. For the second one, after I retired, I no longer used my pickup and some young couple gave me $500 for it and I purchased the second machine. They are rather easy to do most maintenance on. But when I first saw one in the mall in about 1980, I wanted one. Both my machines are from 1985. One gets used more than the other but when I reduce some of my wood inventory, I will pull out number 2 as a partially setup of some configuration. I don't know yet. Thanks, John, for doing this. I will help with what I have learned and experienced. p_toad, Artie, HARO50 and 2 others 3 2 Quote

Travis Posted December 29, 2021 Report Posted December 29, 2021 Trying to reapply sandpaper to drill press drum sander attachment. Anyone know a video. It has a silver rod that comes out and you wrap the paper on. Quote
Masonsailor Posted December 30, 2021 Report Posted December 30, 2021 Can you post a picture of the drum ? Paul Quote
