August 21, 20205 yr Popular Post About six years ago, I made a set of bunk beds for my twin grandaughters (followed, or preceded? by another set for my non-twin granddaughters). When the twin set moved a few years ago, they got separate rooms and unbunked them. Now one of them saw her cousin's loft bed and wants her bed converted to a loft. So that starts today.
August 21, 20205 yr Waiting on resin to cure looks to be a few bubbles in it yet still but it hasn't hit the 24 to 48 hour cure time as of yet, still have some wood blanks left for wood pen barrels. So I'll be doing that along with some recording. The simple transfer thing works pretty danged good to get video footage off the iphone to the pc its just dreadfully slow and I have the pro version of it. Sheesh.

August 21, 20205 yr Yea its gotta few bubbles but it looks like they are mostly at the very top of the resin. I did add color too it so it wouldn't be as bad but not too bad for a No Pressure Pot Resin casting.

August 21, 20205 yr I used one of those plastic parts tray holder things LOL. I wasn't using it so I figured Id use it as a mold LOL.

August 21, 20205 yr I didn't have anything for a mold so I cut that thing open, Ive also got a bunch of those squeeze bottles that I bought to hold my vaping Ejuice that I'm no longer using I just take it straight from the container I bought from the store so I am also contemplating using those in the future as well.

August 21, 20205 yr 10/40 work week day off today, so my weekends are Fri,Sat,Sun, nice schedule eh! Every Friday, still going to the docs for lab tests, keeping an eye on platelets and overall health, my Fridays are shot pretty much. Been in a crappy mood regarding woodworking lately, it's so danged hot these days, we can't go into the garage, it's pushing 3 digits and above in the ol garage shop. I've thought of AC in the garage, but really, unless I'm woodworking for a living I can't justify it. Here in the Southwest, we have non shop days in the summer, cuz of the heat, out where a lot you guys live, your non shop days are the winter. Here in So Cal, we can't wait for fall and winter! It's supposed to cool down to high 90's this weekend, perhaps I'll get some shop time in, with a fan it's bearable in the 90's. I work in the desert all week long at my day job, in the field, been 115 plus with high humidity on my jobs, the last thing I want to do is come home for the weekend and keep working in the heat.
August 21, 20205 yr I still gotta figure out winter situations been thinking about picking up a small heater to put out in the shed so I can stay out and work in the cold LOL.

August 21, 20205 yr Nope unfortunately not allowed to have one of those. The fire policy here is pretty strict just in a mobile home park. So no wood stove for me unfortunately.

I heard Death Valley set a record temp this week. One report said highest earth temp ever recorded, another hottest since the 1910s. Whatever. My philosophy is that you can always put on another coat when it's too cold, when it's too hot, there's a limit. But it's a "dry heat" though

I got a small heater for the camper that I like. It has a high-low setting (using one or both heating panels). It's all enclosed. It has a thermostat to set the temp and a fan that you can optionally run. That makes it nice at night as it runs quietly on convection only. I also got a "Little Buddy" radiant propane heater that is in reserve for a winter power outage. So far, that has prevented such an outage. Edited August 21, 20205 yr by kmealy

Don't know about Death Valley humidity, but I'm working right by the Salton Sea, and it's miserable, we constantly work with headaches, stomach pain, light headed, fatigued, towards mid day we are having attention issues, and we are making errors, then it's time to fold up, jump in the truck with AC on full, and head back home, by half way home we feel much better. You can't escape this stuff, we are drinking water all day, some sports drinks, but the job gotta get done. Really makes one appreciate what our troops go through in the Mid East. I love long sleeve shirts in the winter, jackets, sweaters, flannels, shop time, the Holidays, just love it!
August 21, 20205 yr Popular Post Yep, too hot to work, even though I am going to spend a few minutes working on this everlasting project. Other than that, my plans are to obey my queen. LOL
