Saw these on a demo and almost ordered one for 55 but on second thought.

the c shape one allows to check bottom thickness with workpiece in the chuck due to the thin bottom of the C. Easy to make.

Interesting concept with the design I'm guessing this particular one is for finishing?

The C is a copy of the Hollow-Pro Caliper at Craft Supplies. That thing is 57 for small and 67 for large an I almost ordered it.

@AndrewB This is to measure the thickness of the bottom of a bowl. What I liked was that it was thin enough to touch the bottom of the bowl in the chuck. The distance between the wood at top and the top of the C is the thickness of the bowl bottom.

Ah interesting okay.  Makes more sense now LOL.  I guess I didn't read it correctly.
