Wallnut color change

I have been experimenting with the UV clear finish that dries in seconds when exposed to a UV light or the sun. The sun. is much quicker. I got a surprise when I coated this ornament and took it to the sun. The Walnut looks normal, until it is exposed to the sun and then turns purple, (almost glows) but returns to normal again when out of the sun. It is the only wood so far that does that.

Can anyone guess what I turned into this piece in the center. It is chrome like and comes from a entirely different source and I wondered "What if?"F4E0397A-4683-4E86-ACF5-CE604B506B46_1_201_a.jpeg.e660ec53dd8a81550125567d40a77afb.jpeg

Nice. Center reminds me of crush washers.

We can make it a "Whats it" contest where you win absolutely nothing:)

Nice project and I love the design and the metal like stuff in the middle.  Is it styrofoam or aluminum from juice cans?  That is also neat how the color only shows up in the sun.  What about other light sources?

Very cool ornament Ron.

The center looks kinda sorta like you used the sealing lids from canning jars, but I cannot think of any that would be that small.

Flat wire wave spring.

Dan, I think you nailed it.  You saw what he had, and this just "sprung" to mind?

That's the first time I've seen one of those, Thanks.

Handy Dan nailed it. This spring was in the heels of my shoes. The spring did a good job, however due to the flexing, the shoes did not last. I got curious and wanted to see what kind of spring they used. Now it is a part of an ornament.:D

Is it a left foot ornament or a right foot ornament?;)

Very cool

I'd say that you put your best foot forward with this ornament Ron :)
