June 29, 20206 yr Popular Post comment_233755 I have been experimenting with the UV clear finish that dries in seconds when exposed to a UV light or the sun. The sun. is much quicker. I got a surprise when I coated this ornament and took it to the sun. The Walnut looks normal, until it is exposed to the sun and then turns purple, (almost glows) but returns to normal again when out of the sun. It is the only wood so far that does that. Can anyone guess what I turned into this piece in the center. It is chrome like and comes from a entirely different source and I wondered "What if?" Edited June 29, 20206 yr by Ron Altier Report

June 29, 20206 yr comment_233766 Nice project and I love the design and the metal like stuff in the middle. Is it styrofoam or aluminum from juice cans? That is also neat how the color only shows up in the sun. What about other light sources? Report

June 30, 20206 yr Author comment_233829 Handy Dan nailed it. This spring was in the heels of my shoes. The spring did a good job, however due to the flexing, the shoes did not last. I got curious and wanted to see what kind of spring they used. Now it is a part of an ornament. Report

July 1, 20206 yr comment_233884 I'd say that you put your best foot forward with this ornament Ron Report
