Chicago65 Posted June 13, 2020 Report Posted June 13, 2020 I've been thinking about purchasing a book or videos on woodworking projects and would like to get some feedback on this woodworking package of plans and DVD's. I know there's free stuff on the web but the discount they're running appears to be good deal for 16,000 plans. I'm recently retired without any specific project in mind but the fact that everything's together for me to look through seems to be a good idea. FlGatorwood 1 Quote
p_toad Posted June 13, 2020 Report Posted June 13, 2020 (edited) first...welcome on the patriot woodworker forum. now, to your question. when i tried to use that link my browser flagged it as "clickbait" - which is generally not a good indication. once i went on through... i would say (in my own opinion) run the other direction. no matter what they offer it's probably too good to be true (even with the glowing "testimonials"). I'm sure there are some folks here who may have some good references for you (but i honestly don't think that's one of them).. Popular Post John Morris Posted June 14, 2020 Popular Post Report Posted June 14, 2020 Chicago, welcome to our forums, those are Ted's plans, with a really bad reputation around the woodworking communities. They are a bunch of swindlers and get rich quick schemes that lure unsuspecting folks into running a Ted's website for plans, and trying to lure others in, stay away, run etc. We don't allow Ted's links here on this community so I am going to disable the link, but again, welcome to our forums, hope you enjoy and interact often! In your link the plans for this are offered as one of 16,000. Now how they have plans for something I made with NO plans is amazing. I challenge them any day to duplicate this particular project. You want to learn to do woodworking? Then you have found the right forum to do just that. Plenty of experience and expertise available here for free. Minus the kartrashian drama. Popular Post Ron Dudelston Posted June 14, 2020 Popular Post Report Posted June 14, 2020 Chicago, welcome aboard! Gunny has a good point in that these folks here have a head full of knowledge and all will freely share it. Grab a cup of coffee and thumb through the gallery. That’ll spur the gray matter and the builder will probably share the nuances of how it was built. Cal, Gunny, p_toad and 2 others 4 1 Quote
