kmealy Posted April 21, 2020 Report Posted April 21, 2020 An interesting short video. I do a lot of layering of color, in fact, most things. Whether it's dye followed by a wiping stain, or wiping stain followed by a glaze. I think it really makes a difference. Gunny, Cal, lew and 1 other 3 1 Quote
Gerald Posted April 22, 2020 Report Posted April 22, 2020 Interesting what layers of color will do to the final color. I cannot give the order but about 10 years I stained/glazed some ply to look like dark cherry and that was an interesting process which Steve Mickley talked me thru. By the way look at what Smallpatch does with color. Artie, Gunny and Cal 3 Quote

kmealy Posted May 13, 2020 Author Report Posted May 13, 2020 More on layered coloring. Dresdner is not my favorite finishing author, but I like this article. https://www.rockler.com/learn/layered-color-special-effects-stain?fbclid=IwAR1baqGDkQyGb0JGeYjKtdNwekY0EYPiBnQ-58vVTKavCAYh3ZRXyIcjjso Cal and Gunny 1 1 Quote
