Well here it is Good Friday, and we've made it through another week of "Social Distancing".

 

Here in Wisconsin the Governor has ordered the State Parks closed due to vandalism beginning today.

People have been trashing the parks, stealing the Toilet Paper, and Hand Sanitizers from the public bathrooms.

 

We also had to go out and vote on Tuesday due to the state legislature refusing to allow the voting date to be moved.

We won't know the results of voting until Monday the 13th so the absentee ballots that were postmarked before midnight the 7th can get counted. Many people that requested absentee ballots didn't receive them in time to use them.

 

We had a very nice day on Tuesday, and the poll workers really stepped up to insure those in the lines by 8:00 PM got to exercise their right to vote. My hat is off to them. Now we're back to colder than average weather with snow in the forecast Sunday night into Monday.

 

My hat is also off to those of you that are still doing those essential jobs that help keep the rest of us going.

It can't be easy dealing with some of the inconsiderate people out there.

So how was your week, and what have you got planned for this Easter weekend?

Still at work but alot of standing around time.  At home busy with making drawer dividers and a handplane til. Alot of painting to do on this cabinet as I reorganize it. Moved about 60% of the stuff in it to my twin TS couple years ago. Just now getting back to doing something with it.

 

I'm still scrounging up wood to make the cabinets for my assembly table. I did get some stuff put together, I'll have to post pics later.

We had a great offer on our house, last month. But, it looks like a no go now. He can't get his house sold. We've not stopped prepping for a move, though. My lumber stash has been either sold, given away or stored. But, I had one piece left. An old warped and, ragged, knot filled, rough cut 5" wide 4/4 walnut board about 8' long. Yesterday, I got one edge trued and cut into 12" lengths. Today, I'll true the other edges and end up with..maybe... 4" in width. Then, to the planer. Got no idea what will be the end result. Maybe a few band saw boxes. But, I've convinced myself that I'm being productive. And, it's fun! Now, to find where I packed the glue.

I put the heater back in storage and put the window fan unit back in window. Doors to shop open when I am in it.

It's time to relocate, Larry. 

Where we will be in Ukraine will be about the same as climate here in Georgia. But colder winter temps as it is close to a river.

Working on demo for turning club for next Saturday. Found some turnings I have not finished so started working on those.

As you may know, I’m a city councilman and this pandemic has caused a whole bunch of Zoom meetings from the state level on down.  In fact, I’m averaging 2 to 3 virtual meetings a day.  Therefore, my shop time has really taken a hit.  In spite of this, I had time to sort and clean my shorts shelves and make a couple of cutting boards.

If you were stuck on Gilligan's Island...you probably wouldn't have any tools.   I don't know how they got anything built without a shop. 

Still puttering away, building a cabinet the planes can call home....

 

Even tried out the weedwhacker, the other day.....battery is a 20v Li.....got the backyard done, at least....was too lazy to walk around to do the front yard...
