February 24, 20206 yr Popular Post Wife's bro and wife are visiting. They've spent the last month in Tucson. They're getting acclimatized for the trip back to IL. Don't have an ETD. He's been turning for maybe a year. While in Tucson, he turned a beautiful mesquite vase for us. Well, it's a vase form. He hasn't figured out how to turn a cavity, yet. He got it about 3" deep with an 1 1/4" Forstner. Said he didn't have an extension. I got one. Today, we'll be taking a tour of the various Indian jewelry shops...both retail and working shops.. Between here and Gallup NM. Ending up at Thunderbird Supply, for a visual feast of raw turquoise and other stones plus silver and gold in all shapes and thicknesses. And, all sorts of jewelry making tools. Thunderbird is where the Indians go for their supplies. On the way back, we'll stop at Jim Grey's petrified wood place. Oh, and along the way, we'll likely encounter some Native cuisine, as in Navajo Tacos. Edited February 24, 20206 yr by Gene Howe

February 24, 20206 yr Still moving rather slow, backs still giving me grief. So of course the weather forecast is calling for anywhere from 1-8+ inches of wet heavy SNLUSH! It all depends on which way the storm tracks.
