January 4, 20206 yr Author Thx for the help. I texted my buddy to see if the lid was still around there. He's looking. The locks were still on so I think they took it off there. Lucky it came on wheels. This thing is heavy... I usually use the edge sander to get a radius, etc but this one should be more controlling as it doesn't pull me...I was pleased the handles were actually metal and not plastic.. I almost bought one in the nineties, an older grey. I've been kicking myself since that I hadn't bought.. only $200 Maybe Santa didn't forget me after all....
January 4, 20206 yr Author Popular Post Trying to figure what to do with the job box when not in use. Shops already overloaded. I'll be on hoarders next...I think this cabinet has got to go to make room for the sander. I haven't touched that cabinet since 2005. Who knows what will come out of there,. January 6, 20206 yr On any metal that comes in contact with wood that I plan to finish, I remove any rust , then put on a couple coats of Johnson/Minwax paste wax. It reduces the rust and drag on the tables. I don't stop there, any metal tool, get an annual coat of wax.
January 15, 20206 yr Author Popular Post Finally got back in the shop today. Cleaned a little on the sander. The 6x48 belt from harbor freight was too tight but did try there 120 grit disc. Works okay. Will probably try a klingspor as that's what's on the machine... this type sander and an oscillating sander have been a want for a long time After some clean up this morning all I can say is "mikey likes it".....
January 15, 20206 yr Popular Post I have used "Slipit" on my cast iron for years-----prevents rust real well----also acts as wax to reduce friction when sawing or jointing----works for me.

January 15, 20206 yr Popular Post Are you sure that didn't just fall into your truck off a showroom floor? Looks brand new to me now you got the dust off.
January 16, 20206 yr Author Having trouble getting use to this new delta color. I think I kinda like the old. Lookin work like a jet thesee dsys,..... I guess when Delta came out with this model they really cranked the price up. Not that it is worth it but explains why I can't get answers on the machine. This increase must have been when tools started going up... Trying to find a model year. Anybody know how to read the numbers?... Edited January 16, 20206 yr by BillyJack
January 16, 20206 yr There should be a serial number on the tag on the machine itself. The serial number on the base dates it to 2011.
