I found more things to play with.

They were humming, we will be pretty if you will carve us.

I had Rapid Resizer flip the one picture so now I got a matching pair

to install one on each side of the fire place.

   I then had it to change sizes so they would fit on each column.

 

If the Scroll Saw, the printer, and Rapid Resizer had not been invented I would be digging ditches for fun instead of........

Can hardly wait to see the end results.  

Steve if you started doing this you could watch the progress sitting in your chair in front of the scroll saw or in your chair grinding the wood away.  Now that don't sound complicated does it???

Yep.  One of my bandsaw boxes.  It is much more forgiving to work with.

This place is like one of those sports shows where they get a couple of Hall of Farmers on, different sports. Then they just talk with each other about how they played their respective sports. Great insights.

Artie, we are all our own worst critics.  From what you have posted, you do quality work and I am proud to see your completed projects.  I look forward to many others.  You are here with the rest of us who also make mistakes and sometimes our projects don't quiet meet the desired target, but we make it work for us.  Just keep doing what you are doing as I think you do exceptional work.  

I'm best at making firewood myself.

Yeah, I don’t always quite get what I’m thinking to translate into the words. I know some of what I’m doing is basically at an 8’th grade shop level. There’s nothing wrong with that. I’m just starting out and learning. I’m pretty sure that all of you that have been doing this for some decades are MUCH better at it now, than you were when you started. I know my electrical work is much better now then when I was an apprentice, just how the learning curve goes. The problem is when 20 years later there’s been no improvement LOL. So to complete my example, when the hall of famers (or farmers, whichever one prefers LOL, I just found out I did spell famers correctly, since I didn’t use a capital F spell check turned it into farmers) talk, the up and coming players who know enough to listen, get to learn a lot. I enjoy the company here, and have learned enough that John should probably send me a bill. I’m not much of a farmer, cause there’s not a whole lot of vegetables I like

Perhaps, but take in mind that is a PhD compared to many that are out here butchering wood and calling it … something, I don't know some days I am not sure.

 

I have moments of divine insight, usually followed by a decade or so of absolute stupidity.  It's a crap shoot.  

I guess what I’m trying to say is, there are the goofs you make where you don’t carry out what you know you want to do, as well as you wanted to. I’m still making mistakes in figuring out HOW to make what I want to make. Experience is the only thing that works on me, for learning this stuff, so it’s just making stuff, and learning for me, right now. The problem is I think I’m smarter than I am LOL. I gotta make a lot of sawdust to get where I want to be. I have yet to use a joiner or a planer, I gots lots to learn, and am looking forward to it . 

Smallpatch, please let me apologize, I have just realized I have hijacked your thread. I will try to do better. Please post some more pictures so I can see your progress.  

Artie, we're all learning as we go. Some people have a bit more gifted ability in their genes, but they're still learning. I've seen some of your work and it definitely isn't 8th grade quality stuff. Give yourself more credit for what you do. I think what you need to move ahead is "CONFIDENCE " in yourself. Sure, you'll make mistakes, we all do. No more excuses, get in the shop and start woodworking.
